“Are we still going to the party?” she asked.
“Party. Yeah, right. We should go to the party.”
She got up and walked over to her bag to pull out fresh panties and a change of clothes.
I didn’t dare approach her, or we were never going to leave this room.
“Are you okay?” I tried asking her once more.
“I’m fine.”
“You didn’t stop me this time.”
“I didn’t want to stop you the first time,” she confessed.
I sucked in a sharp breath.
“Do you want to go to the party still?”
She actually looked torn, but slowly nodded her head.
I made sure we were both presentable, taking a second to fix her hair and give her one final chaste kiss before opening the door.
Before Lauren followed, she grabbed the beer she’d been handed at the door and downed it quickly. I was shocked. Plus, it had to be warm and gross by now. The look of disgust on her face told me I was right.
“How about we get you something better?”
“You don’t have to get me drunk to go back to your room. I’m staying here, remember?”
She was nervous again, but trying to play it off as if it were no big deal. It was cute.
“I definitely do not want you drunk. Not if I’m to ravish you again later.”
“Oh,” she squeaked.
I smacked her on the butt to get her moving.
Lauren
Chapter 20
I still couldn’t believe what had just happened. And I couldn’t get the image of seeing him naked like that out of my head. I certainly hadn’t planned for that to happen, but I didn’t regret that it had.
There hadn’t been anything scary about it. Actually, it had been so easy to just let go and let him make me feel so good. If I had the guts to admit it, I’d tell him to forget this stupid party and let’s just stay in and do more of that.
It was pretty much a guarantee that I was going to quickly become addicted to him.
But I wasn’t brave enough to say as much, so instead we got dressed and headed out to the party with a little bit of liquid courage that had been gross, but hopefully would calm my nerves.
The second the door opened, the noise was deafening. I smiled, thinking of all the times I’d had to fuss at Kylie for playing music too loud. I knew she must be in heaven right now.
Denny took my hand as we walked back to the living room. I understood why when we got there. There were a lot of people suddenly crammed into that room.
“Where’d all these people come from?” I yelled over the noise.
Even with our advanced wolf hearing, it was hard to hear anything.
He shrugged.
