“About damn time.”
“What was that?” Oscar asked.
“Dean says it’s about damn time you called me.”
“So he knows all about me?”
“Of course. I tell him everything.”
“This is so weird. I feel like I’ve missed so much.”
“I know. Growing up sucks. But I don’t want to lose you, Oscar. You’re still my best friend.”
“But I’m close second, right?” Dean asked.
“You’re my mate. That doesn’t count.”
“Hold on,” Oscar said, but then he hung up on me.
A second later a video message request popped up on my screen.
I smiled and answered it.
“Hey, you,” he said.
“I’m still mad at you. So don’t just hey me.”
“I wouldn’t disappear on her like that again, dude,” Dean said.
“You must be Dean.”
“And you’re the infamous Oscar.”
“Don’t be mad, Bails. It’s been a crazy semester.”
“Is there a girl involved in this crazy?”
He laughed.
“No way. I don’t even have time to date here.”
“What?” Dean said. “College is supposed to be the time to cut loose and have fun.”
I rolled my eyes. “Everyone knows how much fun you had.”
He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my neck.
“I have lot morefunwith you.”
“Oh my God! You lost your virginity already?” Oscar said.
I laughed. “I told you, I mated him, so yeah, that’s kind of a thing. Wait, you haven’t lost your V-card?”
“Maybe I want to save it for my own true mate someday. Seems to have worked for you.”
“I can’t really argue with that.”
“You two really are two of a kind,” Dean said.
