I didn’t wait this time and called Patrick and Vance immediately.
“What’s up?” Vance asked.
“We have a third. I thought it was just a pass through this time, but then it appears they turned around and came back. Three alerts in on the same vehicle with stolen tags in the last fifteen minutes.”
“We found the second car. We’ll get a team out on this latest one. Just send over what you have it on,” Patrick said.
“What the hell is going on?”
“Keep me posted,” I told them.
Bailey walked over and wrapped her arms around me.
“You need to calm down, okay?”
I nodded, then leaned down to kiss her.
It was hard not to think about how different this afternoon should have been.

Chapter 20
Dean was on the verge of losing it. My touch was only calming him a little. I had no doubt that he would be handling this all better if we had already sealed our bond. And I was pretty sure the only thing keeping me together was worrying about him.
“Are we safe here?” I asked him.
“Absolutely.”
“And aside from anymore alerts, is there anything we can do from here?”
“Not really. There’s always a slight lag on satellite imaging, so even if we search the area to track these people down that way, it’s still up to the feet on the ground to find them.”
“Would it make you feel better to try?”
“Honestly, no. It may even make it worse if I discover they’re near here. I don’t know how to explain it, but my raven is losing his shit over the thought of you being in danger.”
“So you need a distraction,” I said, grinning at him.
“Do you have something in mind?”
Very slowly, I began removing my clothes one article at a time. He watched me closely. I couldn’t believe I was brazen enough to do this, but the way he looked at me gave me the courage to continue.
“You did lock the door, right?” I asked, remembering the last time I was naked in this room.
He chuckled and nodded.
“Is this your idea of a distraction?”
His voice had already lowered to that deep voice that I knew was a sign he was turned on.
“It’s a start,” I teased.
“Should I join you?”
He made no move to remove anything.
“I can help,” I offered, stepping close enough to untuck and lift his shirt up and over his head before discarding on the floor.
