"Where is he?" I asked calmly.
"He won't listen," Brady said.
"Take me to him now. Kenneth, Tim, wait in the car," I said.
They both shivered but nodded.
Brady begrudgingly walked me over to his pack doctor as Oliver got up and began following us, starting to come out of his anger. I hadn't realized that's what it was at first, but I understood now.
"Peyton, don't bother," he tried to argue, but it was too late. I spotted the doctor sitting on a lawn chair smoking a joint.
"Is that him?" I asked.
They both nodded, staying close to my back.
"What do we have here? What can I do for you, pretty lady?" the disgusting man asked as his friends all snickered.
"You're the pack doctor?" I asked.
"That I am, and for you, the doctor is in the house tonight," he said with a wink.
Oliver and Brady both growled behind me, but I ignored them.
"This baby is very sick. I'm told you refused to even look at her."
"What's it to you? She's just a little half-breed. Ain't worth my time."
I vaguely heard Luke Larken speaking behind me, and I sort of remember passing Eve off to Oliver before lunging at the man. Luke's strong arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me back. His friends weren't snickering anymore as my wolf eyes honed in on our prey.
"If anything happens to that little girl, I swear to God I will come back and personally rip your throat out."
"Peyton, that's enough," Luke said and I could feel his Alpha powers washing over me, but I fought against them long enough to make my point. Luke physically picked me up and carried me over to my car. "What the hell is going on? You can't just drive up in here and threaten my wolves like that," Luke said.
"Oh, that was not a threat, Luke, that was a goddamn promise. That worthless piece of shit wouldn't even look at Eve," I told him, trying to get ahold of myself
"I'll handle him, but right now, you need to leave," he said. "Thomas said he'd send your doc to the house, whatever that means."
A tear ran down my cheek. "I didn't even ask him to do that."
"Where's this house? Oliver's as worked up as you are and I'm not sending him into Collier territory like that, I don't give a shit what Thomas approved."
"It's just outside Collier territory," I said. "It's a neutral zone."
"Peyton, if you're talking about the house you bought, that is Collier land. Thomas claims and protects any land any member of his Pack acquires. You should know that."
"I do, that's why I made sure it was bought jointly, so he couldn't claim it," I said. "She's really sick, Luke, we need to go. You're welcome to come over," I said.
"Who else has claim to the property? I just need to know what I'm getting myself into."
I looked at him. "You do," I said, then turned to speak to Oliver. "Thomas is sending Doc. Take her back to the house now."
He nodded and left without a word, the boys right on his tail.
Luke stopped me as I got into my car. "Who else is on your mortgage then?"
"There's no mortgage. It was paid for in cash," I told him honestly.
"Who, Peyton. Oliver?"
