“What’s this?” she asked.

“Just open it,” he said.

Peyton’s grin grew as she read the note. “I guess I’m not working tonight after all. How did you guys manage this on such short notice?”

Tim shrugged. “We just thought since you’re getting married and all you deserve at least one night alone for your honeymoon. It’s not like you guys get that often.”

“One catch,” Brady said. “You have to take my bike. We need the van to get Eve to Ruby’s house. You cool with that, Peyton? I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you on a bike before.”

She laughed. “No, you haven’t because I’ve never ridden before.”

He handed her a helmet. “Well, fortunately you’re in good hands. Ollie’s the best teacher there is.” He looked down at his watch. “Sorry, we gotta run. I do have to get back to work this afternoon.” He gave Peyton a kiss on the cheek and then hugged me tightly. “You did good, big brother.”

I smiled. “Thanks for doing all this.”

“For all you’ve done for us, it was the least we could do.”

Brady grabbed his own helmet and tossed it into the van, then reached in and produced mine. Handing it to me, he gave one final smile before loading Eve and the boys up and driving off.

I looked over at my bride, my beautiful mate. “You ready?”

“I’m wearing a dress. This is going to be a little awkward.” She gave a nervous laugh.

“I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you.” I mounted the bike and instructed her to climb on behind me while I kept it steady. It took her a couple tries and she had to hike her dress high to swing her leg over, but once she was in place, we were good to go.

I loved the feel of her weight behind me. At first, she gripped my waist like a vise, but as we drove down the highway her tension eased. I could feel her excitement as clearly as my own and halfway home I started smelling her arousal, too.

“Faster,” she yelled in my ear, evidence of her heightened adrenaline.

My wolf was going crazy. It wasn’t the same as a run, though we’d had few of those in our lifetime to compare, but it was a similar rush that gave him contentment. It was why most of us rode hard and fast.

When I pulled up to the house and parked the bike, Peyton’s arms wrapped tighter around my waist as I removed my helmet. She leaned down and nibbled along my neck, sending shockwaves of pleasure straight to my groin.

“That was incredible, and now I need to run,” she said.

That was not where I thought we were heading.

“Come on,” she said, swinging her leg over the bike to dismount as if she’d been riding her whole life. I followed.

The second the door closed, and we started walking toward the back of the house, she started stripping off clothes. By the time we hit the porch she was gloriously naked, and a run was the last thing I had on my mind.

“Are you coming?” she asked in a sultry voice.

Wrong question, I thought to myself as I gulped hard.

She stood there waiting for me to undress too, so I did. Her eyes went wide, and she licked her lips when seeing how turned on I was. For a moment I thought she was going to change course and forget about the run.

“When was the last time you went for a run?” she asked.

I shrugged. “Can’t remember. A few years back, I guess.”

She looked shocked. “What?”

“I told you before, babe, we didn’t have a safe place to really let our wolves out.”

“Well, you do now. I can’t wait to see yours.”

I took a deep breath and walked over to her, kissed her hard, then stepped back and forced myself to shift. Because I had never done it much, it didn’t come as naturally to me as it did to others.
