Why did he keep doing that? I grumbled and peered down at him.
“I’m not in a rush,” he whispered with a playful smile. “I’ve waited this long to have you again. I want to enjoy it.”
I did, too, but I wasn’t used to this slow and romantic kind of sex. It had always been a sprint to me, not a marathon, and I had liked it that way. It’d always worked fine for me.
But when I tried to shift myself again to ride him faster, he used his hold on my waist to push me farther down on him. At the same time, he tilted his hips up in the right way to hit that special spot that had me soaring again. Another orgasm ripped through me, and I cried out.
Looked like the man knew what he was doing after all.
Slow and steady wins the race, right?
Eli’s hands moved to my breasts and cupped them, and I placed my own palms over his to help him squeeze. More energy sparked between us, only heightening the pleasure rocketing through me.
“Oh, Jade…” He continued to rock his hips to a slow rhythm.
I loved the way my name sounded coming from his lips in his sexy accent. Especially what it did to my body. Goose bumps crawled over my skin, and I shivered.
When his head pushed back deeper into the pillow and his eyes closed with his own release, I smiled. That look of pure ecstasy on his face was absolutely breathtaking.
His body eased into the mattress, and I rolled off his hips to lie beside him. Staring up at the unmoving ceiling fan, my body tingled all over. In a good way—a very good way.
As my libido floated down from the clouds, I let my eyelids drift closed. Feeling completely satisfied, fatigue pressed against me.
Only a few moments later, the bed shifted and pressure pushed against my thighs. I looked up to find Eli hovering over me, a sly smile on his lips.
“Um, hello there,” I said sheepishly.
“Like I said before…” he began, placing a kiss on the curve of my neck, “I’ve waited a long time to be with you again.” Another kiss, this time on my collarbone. A delicious shudder went through me. “And I’m not done with you yet.”
Oh boy…I liked the sound of that.
Suddenly no longer tired, I placed my hands on either side of his face and guided his mouth back to mine. I kissed him long and hard enough to show him that I was definitely on board with his plan.
A night full of us getting reacquainted.
Over and over again.
I awoke to an unfamiliar heat surrounding me. As my blurry vision readjusted, I swiped the sweaty, damp strands of hair out of my face and wiggled my way to the edge of the bed. Something large and heavy flopped off my stomach as I shifted, and I looked back to see that it was an arm.
Which was attached to a gorgeous man. Eli lay on his side, blanket tucked in around his hips, still asleep and blissfully unaware I had moved at all. Some Guardian. Wasn’t he supposed to always be on alert or something? Didn’t even wake up when I stood and made my way around the room, picking up my clothes off the floor. Even when my pinky toe knocked against one of the bedposts and I hissed in pain and mumbled every curse in the book, he didn’t budge.
Wow. I feel safe.
I laughed to myself and crept out of the bedroom with my clothes tucked under my arm. In the living room, I dressed and ran my fingers through my hair a few times. Now what to do…
Did I pull the ol’ hump-and-dump and leave him to wake up alone? Or did I stick around and wait?
I should probably go. If Eli was determined to stay attached to me at all times, this might be my only chance to get back to Hell without him and find Benjamin.
I tapped my watch to see if Simon had sent me any notifications or jobs while I was in Hell or…distractedby Eli. Nothing so far.
That was surprising.
Glancing back at my cracked bedroom door, I imagined just how mad Eli would be once he woke up to find me gone. He’d see it as the second time he’d lost track of me. Talk about a blow to the ego.
But I had things to do, and I couldn’t have Eli stop me from going back down the elevator. I’d made a deal with Monnie, and I didn’t want to know what happened when you didn’t hold up your end of a demon’s bargain.
I left the apartment, making sure to close the door as quietly as possible. I’d make a quick stop at A.B. and tell Wyatt about our adventures through Hell before making my way back there. Hopefully Marla would be around, too, and I could see if there were any protections or tracking spells that would still work down there. Since I was going alone, I could use the help.
