I nodded, resting my hands just above her hips. “Yeah,” I replied. “Are you?”

“As long as I’m with you, I’m right as rain,” she giggled.

I chuckled before pecking her lips. “In that case, let’s go see if I can make your body rain too.”

Chapter 61

Nyah

Sipping on a Mai Tai while resting on the sun lounger close to the pool, through my sunglasses, I watch my handsome mate doing laps in the deep end of the pool. The sound of water splashing around to the left side of me grabs my attention to see Ballian and Skia splashing in the shallow part of the pool. I giggle, shaking my head. Those two are something else. No one would ever suspect the two had deadly wild sides by the way they’re playing around like pups.

We’re currently staying in a private villa at the resort Braxton acquired in Turks and Caicos. Although we’re here partially for business, it’s also a much needed getaway from everything that had transpired over the last month.

Thank goodness for the private jet because I’m sure neither one of them would have lasted five seconds in the cage that the commercial airlines had for pets.

For the sake of the airlines and ourselves, we didn’t have to go through that. Can you imagine Ballian’s big ass cooped up in one of those cages? His ass would have gone ballistic before the cage door was closed.

The jet was a Boeing 747-8VIP. The elite of personal jets with extremely polite and professional staff who took care of our every need. If I recall correctly, only one other person in the world owned one. The craft had two levels large enough to accommodate our oversized wolves, leaving Braxton and I to take the upper level, giving Ballian and Skia the lower.

Through our mental connection Braxton and I instructed Ballian and Skia not to use their voices around the flight crew. Can you imagine the chaos that would have ensued if they wouldhave openly spoken to the crew? They agreed only to mentally speak to us.

After assuring the staff Ballian and Skia were friendly wolves, they somewhat let their guard down when the head stewardess, Nita came to take our drink and meal orders. Braxton and I ordered ribeye steaks with loaded mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Next, Nita asked what Ballian and Skia would be having. Nita’s brows rose as Braxton told her to bring them five raw tomahawk steaks apiece, ten raw porterhouse steaks and ten raw bacon wrapped filets. It’s a good thing Bryant had thought ahead and had the jet stocked with enough food to feed all of us.

After writing everything down, Nita walked to the galley where the others were waiting. Braxton glanced over to Ballian. They weren’t blocking their mental conversation, so Skia and I heard Braxton sarcastically ask Ballian,“Is that it? You should probably add some vegetables with all of that meat.”

Ballian scoffed and replied,“And you should add more raw meat to yours.”

I choked on the sweet tea that one of the other stewardesses served us. I had just sucked the liquid through my straw and now it had invaded my nasal cavities, ready to erupt like a geyser as I struggled to hold in my laughter.

“Nyah, are you all right?”Skia inquired, coming to my aid. Her wide paw taps my back.

I nodded, holding my hand up for her to stop.“I’m okay, Skia. Thank you. My drink went down the wrong way,”I lied.

“Are you sure?”she questioned, looking worried.

“Yes, yes I’m sure,”I returned.

“As I said before we’ll be downstairs,”Ballian informed once he saw I was all right.“Come, Skia,”he softly said.

It took me reassuring Skia I was all right before she joined her mate. They headed to the wide staircase. Ballian steppedaside, allowing his mate to go first. Who knew there was a gentleman side of the mighty wolf warrior.

As Ballian’s paws touched the first step, Braxton chuckled,“I ought to make your ass starve until we land.”

Ballian stopped, swiveling his head towards Braxton. The sides of his mouth curved as he smiled at Braxton.“You could but I wouldn’t advise it. You know my mate and I have a voracious appetite, and I would hate for us to turn it towards the flight crew. I’m sure the flesh from their bodies will sustain us until we land.”Ballian closed his eyes as his long tongue came out and ran over his teeth.

“You wouldn’t,”Braxton exclaimed, gripping the armrests, acting as if he was going to stand.

Although I knew Ballian wouldn’t harm the flight crew, I found their exchange amusing.

Ballian let out a snort as his shoulders rose then fell.“Whether I do or not, it’s up to you. As I said before, we’ll be downstairs.”He continued down the stairs, leaving Braxton to stare at the empty space he stood in.

Giggling, I placed my hand over Braxton’s as he chuckled, shaking his head from side to side.

“Now, you know they wouldn’t eat the flight crew. Ballian and Skia only eat those they deem as a threat.

“He’s lucky I don’t just feed him the fat from my steak.”

I laughed harder, swatting his shoulder. “Please don’t. That little piece of fat will really piss him off.” We dissolved into more laughter.
