Braxton finds this more amusing. “Are you seriously forgetting about what happened yesterday and earlier today?”
Placing my palm flat on my forehead and closing my eyes, I reply, “You know what, no I’m not serious. We haven’t claimed each other, whatever you do is not my concern.”
“Is that right?” Braxton inquires, slowly approaching me.
“Hell, yeah that’s right. If and when things become official between us, I don’t give a shit what you do and nor should you when it comes to my personal life.”
Lord, I hope Fonda was away from her desk, so she didn’t hear the guttural growl Braxton let out before pulling me into his arms. I would like to say that I tried to fight off his domineering kiss, but once his lips touched mine there was no use. Braxton held me in his arms like a King holding his Queen as he passionately kissed me into submission. Every erogenous zone in my body awakened and wanted to be touched, teased, and stimulated. Braxton must have been feeling the same way, because his massive hard dick was pressing against my stomach. One thing we knew for sure, our sexual chemistry was on fire.
Braxton suckled my lips before moving his head back. “You are the only woman I want to be with, Nyah. You might see me as this person who moves from State to State, bedding women, and you’re right.” I try to get out of his grasp, but Braxton tightens his grasp. “What I’m saying is, I used to be that person, that is until I met you. You are my mate, Nyah and I am yours. Every woman that I have been in contact with since then looks like Jeepers Creepers to me.”
I laughed out loud. Now why did he have to say that?
“I’m serious,” he says. “Fonda can walk into this damn office butt ass naked, and it still wouldn’t get a rise out of me.” To add emphasis, he makes his dick throb. “You feel that? That is only for you. All I want is for you to give us a try. The next full moon isn’t for another two months. I suggest we take this time to get to know each other better. How does that sound?”
I take a minute to think about it, then reply, “We can do that, but you need to let Ms. Thang out there know she has a snowball chance in Hell to be with you.”
Braxton nods, then responds, “I can do that, but you need to let that panty-waste Corey know I’m not the one to be tested when it comes to my mate. Just like you wanted to tear into Fonda...”
“No, I didn’t,” I deny, but we know I was seconds away from doing it.
Braxton throws his head back laughing. “Yes, you did. You reacted the same way I did yesterday with Corey except you didn’t partially shift which I highly commend you for.”
“Yeah, okay. That’s because Fonda doesn’t know about our people. You on the other hand were surrounded by other shifters.” I giggled, loving the way his big arms felt wrapped around me.
Braxton shrugged his shoulders. “Shifter or humans, I don’t care who I’m around when it comes to you. Mr. Shepard was lucky my father was around this morning, or he would have been met with the same hostility as Corey’s punk ass.”
I laughed but I have no doubt Braxton meant what he said. He and his wolf have just as much of a short fuse as me and mine. Maybe the Gods did the right thing in pairing us together. Only time will tell.
Chapter 11
Braxton
The last two weeks getting to know Nyah better on a one-on-one basis has been incredible. She and her family have taught me so many differences between our Pack and theirs. Whereas my Pack relied on technology and other modern-day advances, the Midnight Pack rarely uses them. They still rely on their old customs of farming, hunting, and antiquated traditions but the more I see how Alpha Lightfeather leads his Pack with those values, I see why they are one of the longer lasting Packs in the country along with ours.
The evening father met with Alpha Lightfeather, Alpha Lightfeather didn’t hold back as he served up cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. The various sides complimented each selection, and everyone relished the deliciousness of the food.
While we ate, I nonchalantly looked around for Corey to pop up, but he never did. Horace, his father however did make an appearance to greet my father before disappearing. I guess he was feeling some type of way because Nyah chose to be with me instead of his son. I mean, how can he expect an Alpha Female to mate with a Beta? I’m not saying that it can’t be done, but when it comes to mine, it will never happen.
After dinner, we left Father and Alpha Lightfeather getting caught up while Kenia and Levi seemed to be in a heated conversation. Not sure what that was about, but I know Levi will fill me in when he feels like it. One thing about us, we never probed too deeply into each other’s personal lives. If I felt like I needed his advice, then I would ask, and he would do the same with me. Other than that, what he did on his off time was his business.
Nyah led me into the woods with Crown, the fawn, at her side. As she pointed out significant landmarks, my eyes were glued to her toned ass hiding behind the skinny jeans she had changed into with an oversized black t-shirt that hung off her left shoulder.
That part of her body seemed to glisten which made me want to use the end of my tongue to trace every part of it. Crown must have caught on that my wolf, and I were struggling to coordinate because he hurriedly went behind Nyah.
Holding my hand out in front of me, I told Nyah, “I told you no harm would come to the fawn, and I meant that. My wolf and I are reacting this way because of what you have on.”
Nyah cautiously kneels, then whispers in Crown’s ear. I thought it was nonsense until she was finished, and he took off in the direction back to the house.
“What was that?”
Nyah giggled, “That was me telling Crown if you didn’t act like a gentleman, then he would know where to bring my daddy.” She grabbed my hand, then said, “Come on.”
Ten minutes later, we came upon an older cabin. Nyah released my hand as she walked over to the flower plots. She crouched down and began to pull weeds out of them. Crown leaves us to go to the back of the cabin.
Looking at the structure, for it to be old, the upkeep of it had been well maintained. Someone had been taking the time to mow the lawn, prune the hedges, and make sure the porch with two chairs and a table were clean.
“This was my grandmother’s home. Crown and I will be moving in soon. I’ll have enough freedom to let my wolf free and for him to connect with nature.”
