Mike’s smile grows sinister when he replies, “Mad Dog”
“Awww, shit,” I shout. “I can definitely see that with the tattoos, wild hair, and your big ass body.”
Mike laughs harder. “And my wife loves it!”
“Speaking of your wife does she know about this?” Zar questions.
“She knows some, but just like you with your family business, I try to keep her from knowing certain things.”
We all nod in agreement.
“The jet will be ready in three hours. The Captain says maintenance needed to refuel and readjust the stabilizers,” Yiannis informs, sliding his phone back into his suit pocket.
“Cool, that will give me enough time to run to Giordano’s and pick up some pizzas for Hailey and Devyn,” Alistair comments, getting up from his seat.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea, Alistair,” Zar warns.
Alistair gives him one of his crazy looks. “Who’s going to fuck with me? You know I stay ready. I’m going to call my order in halfway there so I won’t have to wait, then I’ll be right back.”
“Maybe one of us needs to go with you,” I offer.
His eye twitches before he laughs. “Do I look like I need a babysitter, Xander? I’m a grown ass man. I don’t need no one to ride with me. Now, if you will excuse me, I’m going to go pick up some pizzas for my ladies.”
We watch him as he struts out of the room before Zar yells, “Bring your ass right back and don’t start no shit. We already have enough on our plate.”
“Yeah, Yeah,” we hear him throw back.
“Little shit,” Zar whispers.
Two hours later, we were still waiting for Alistair to return. The Captain called about a half an hour ago stating that the jet was ready. While we waited on Alistair, it was established that Jeeves would take Yiorgos and Basil around the city to meet with the local Bosses. Sebastian had called each one of them and informed them Yiorgos would be running things and if they had a problem with it, they could voice their concerns with him, which I doubt any of them would do once they got a look at him. But then again he might have a few who might try him and that probably wouldn’t end well for them.
Zar called and talked with Trappa. Trappa told him about the call he received from Eduardo’s men. Once we relayed to him their reasoning for contacting him, he wanted no parts from any side, but we were able to persuade him to join forces with us after offering him a dirt cheap rate on some weapons, plus a nice sizable monetary gain. Plus, it didn’t hurt to throw in that Janae was now in danger too, although we could tell Mike didn’t like that part. Hey, we needed all the allies we could get right now and to have Trappa and his men on our side was a win.
“Where the hell is he at?” Zar growls, pacing. “Hendrix, try his phone again.”
Hendrix calls Alistair’s phone for the fourth time. He shakes his head when he doesn’t get an answer.
“I’m going to wring his neck when he gets back here,” Zar declares, just as Yiannis’ cell phone starts to ring.
He stares at the unknown number, then answers. “Hello? Yes, this is Yiannis Kourakos. Yes, I own a black Mercedes C Class.”
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know something fucked up was said on the other end when Yiannis yells, “What? When? Where is my son?” His face turns red as he grips the phone.
“Father, what happened?” Zar shouts with worry.
“Yiannis, who is that?” Sebastian asks.
Yiannis doesn’t reply as he tells the person on the phone, “I’m on my way.”
The phone falls from his hand as we call out his name. Yiannis’ chest begins to quickly rise and fall as his face contorts in a fit of rage. He jumps from his seat, picking up the coffee table, then hurling it against the wall causing wood to fly everywhere from the impact.
“They. Killed. My. Fucking. Son.”
My heart sinks. No, this has got to be a mistake. A huge fucking mistake. Not Alistair! My vision becomes cloudy with tears.
“No, no, no,” Zar cries as tears form in his eyes.
“Yiannis, son please tell me that is not what you were just told?” Sebastian’s voice shakes as he asks.
