“I get that. Usually, I’m asleep around this time from coming in late after Mystique closes, but since we’re on lock down, I’m enjoying going to bed at a decent hour. I do miss my club, but luckily I have a good staff that can take care of everything while I’m away,” Nina voices as she goes over to the refrigerator and pulls out the pitcher of orange juice.

“I know your low key loving that,” I say, relaxing in my chair,

She laughs as she fills up a glass. “You know I am. I love my club but sometimes I need a break, although this wasn’t the kind of break I had in mind.” Her laughter ceases.

Not wanting her to feel bad because they were put in this sequester because of me, I move on to something else. “So, how’s the wedding planning going?”

Nina rolls her eyes. “Girl, between Althaia, GeeGee, and now Ismena, I’m ready for me and Balthazar to jump on the first flight to Vegas and elope.”

I burst out laughing because I’m sure those three have probably taken over. I mean, there was no room to argue with them since the three of them have banded back together.

“That might not be a bad idea,” I tell her.

Nina comes over to the table, then takes a seat. “Oh, it’s bad on so many levels. Althaia would have a heart attack if we did that, plus GeeGee would skin us alive, and since Ismena has reconnected with them, her decision would go either way. So, a big eventful wedding is what we will be having.”

Curious, I ask, “Who will you have walking you down the aisle?”

Nina smiles bright as she replies, “Yiannis and Sebastian, of course. I don’t know who my biological father is, so I chose the only two who have ever shown me fatherly love.”

Nodding, I respond, “I know what you mean. If Xander and I ever got married, I would totally consider asking Yiannis instead of my Father to walk me down the aisle. From the moment I met him, he has shown me nothing but kindness.”

“Exactly! What other older men are you going to find to fill out a tuxedo the way they do or have their swag. Say what you want, but Yiannis and Sebastian are going to have our wedding pictures stand out from any of the others,” Nina beams, clapping her hands together.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re right.”

“Hell, I know I am. I will proudly stand there and take my pictures with Althaia and GeeGee just as long as I don’t have to take them with my drug addicted Momma,” she says.

Xander told me about what happened between Nina and her Mother, so I understand where she’s coming from. My Momma always sided with my Daddy, even when she knew shit was fucked up. I loved her but, deep down I knew she would always put my Daddy and brothers first.

“Vegas or here, your wedding will be phenomenal,” I exclaim, holding my glass of juice up to her.

“I know that’s right,” she approves before hitting her glass against mine.

We drink down the juice like it’s champagne before the others start to trickle in.

“There are two of you in here, why isn’t breakfast started?” GeeGee fusses as she ties an apron around her waist.

Both Nina and my mouths form an ‘O’. The last thing we want first thing in the morning is to get on GeeGee’s bad side. Getting up from my chair, I say, “Sorry about that, GeeGee. What can we help you with?”

She comes over, then strokes my hair. “Baby girl, I know some of this is new to you, but the rules are...., first one up preps the kitchen, the second assists the first with getting breakfast started, and the third should have coffee, juice, and tea ready for the others while one and two are cooking.”

“But GeeGee, when Nina, Hailey, and I start breakfast, you always come in and kick us out, taking over,” Janae giggles.

GeeGee squints her eye at her before coming back with, “But you know the rules. Yes, I kick you out because this is my kitchen.” She turns to Nina. “You know the rules too, so why didn’t you tell Sabre so you all could get started?”

“We started talking about the wedding and I got sidetracked. Sorry, GeeGee,” Nina replies.

GeeGee points her finger at her. “I’ll let it slide this time because I know how excited you are about the wedding. Now, all of you get out my kitchen so I can make breakfast.”

“Yes, ma’am” we say at the same time before leaving GeeGee to her domain.

I go back to my room to get cleaned up. An hour later, after throwing on a pair of jeans and light sweater, I go to meet the others in the dining room. GeeGee and Devyn just finished putting the serving dishes on the table. This woman is an amazing cook. She has everything from cheese eggs to English muffins. I wonder if she has anyone special in her life because, GeeGee would make the perfect wife for any man. Of course, he will have to be strong enough to deal with her bold personality. I make a mental note to ask Xander about it.

“So, what do you ladies want to do today,” Nina asks, once we’re done eating.

Janae laughs. “Girl, what can we do? We’re stuck in here, remember?”

“Yeah, yeah I know but we can still make the best of it,” Nina states, rolling her eyes.
