Sabre smirks as she looks over at me. “Thank you too, Xander.”

“You’re welcome, love,” I return.

“If you guys will excuse me, I’m going to get cleaned up,” Sabre informs before standing, then leaning down to kiss my cheek.

“Take you time,” I tell her as she goes to the bathroom, then closes the door.

“How is she doing this morning?” Mother asks, sitting in the chair next to me.

Running my fingers through my hair, I reply, “Physically she is fine, but we had a blowup earlier about her family and, at this point, all I care about is her getting on that jet.”

“She will,” Karisa says, placing her hand on my shoulder.

The door opens with Zar, Alistair, Sebastian, and Yiannis coming in.

“Good morning, everyone,” Sebastian greets, taking the lead.

“Good morning,” Mother and Karisa dryly responds.

I stand, going over to them. “Good morning. You’re all right on time. Dr. Abrahams is discharging Sabre and we’re just waiting on the nurse to come in with the discharge papers.”

“Good, good,” Zar approved. “We sent Mike and the others to the airport. They will be accompanying the ladies back to Dallas so they can get a head start on their recon.” He then glances at Yiannis, who slightly nods. Zar’s eyes move from Mother, to Karisa, then back to me. “Sabre, Ismena, and Karisa will be staying at my house with the rest of the women.”

“What?” Mother and Karisa screech at the same time.

Zar holds his hand up. “With everything that is going on, I feel that it would be best if you all were together. I can’t have everyone spread out.”

Mother turns to me. “Xander, I cannot,”

“Ismena, you can and you will if you choose to go to Dallas,” Yiannis interjects, stepping forward. “This is not up for debate nor is it something that is new to you.”

Mother huffs as she turns her head away from him.

“There won’t be any problems,” I affirm to them, cutting my eyes at Mother and Karisa.

Alistair with his off the wall ass chimes in, “Shit, I know it won’t be with GeeGee and Mother there. People better learn to act right or they’ll get right.”

“Excuse me?” Karisa fumes.

“Don’t mind him, Sis. Everything will be fine,” I try to convince, giving Alistair the stink eye. He shrugs his shoulders.

The door reopens with the nurse coming in.

“Oh, where is Ms. Tompkins?” she asks as her eyes bounce from everyone in the room.

“She’s getting cleaned up,” I tell her.

“Okay, well here are her discharge papers. I have some pain meds here for her to take that should hold her over until she gets her prescription filled. Dr. Abrahams has given her a seven day supply of pain meds and she is to follow up with her physician in one week,” she states.

I take the papers from her. “If it’s not too much trouble can you call the prescription in to this pharmacy?” I whip out my phone and pull up the one closest to my house in Copper Canyon, then show her the phone number.

“Sure, that won’t be a problem,” she states as she takes the prescription from the paperwork and writes down the name of the pharmacy with the phone number, then exits the room.

All eyes turn to the bathroom door as it opens and Sabre emerges.

“Hey,” she greets everyone.

They return with several different greetings.
