“So, you’ve heard of them,” Zar questions.

“Tá (yes), a few years back, they tried to move in on my territory. Shit got messy, but they know not to fuck with me anymore,” Brogan says, raising his glass to Zar, then winking.

I sit in the recliner, leaning forward with a beer in my hand. “Well, this isn’t just about them wanting to take over our territory. They want my woman and I’m not giving her up.”

“Ah, sounds like the same thing to me,” Rory speaks, sitting next to Brogan. “Your territory, you will fight to protect it with your life and your woman, the one you love, you will fight, kill, and do whatever is necessary to protect her. Your woman is your territory.”

We nod in agreement. The way Rory put it made sense. Every one of us in this room have proved we would fight for both our territory and our women.

“So, what are you going to do about Santiago,” Brogan queries.

“We’re going after their asses,” I sneer, clutching my beer bottle tighter.

“Yeah, I’m with Xander. Enough of this shit. After today, I say we put an end to shit once and for all! I say we strike tonight,” Alistair adds with a deadly expression.

Zar smiles at Brogan before taking another shot. “You’ve heard the tribe, we’re going after their asses.”

“Hell yeah,” Alistair shouts, high-fiving Hendrix.

“But not tonight,” Zar says, cutting off Alistair’s brief moment of celebration.

“Why not?” he questions, raising his brow.

I answer for Zar. “Because Santiago will be expecting us to retaliate tonight. Also, when we strike their asses, I want Eduardo to be there. Getting rid of him will be the only way we end this.”

“Man, fuck that! Those motherfuckers came into our territory, to our club, and attacked us like we’re some pussies and you want to wait?! And let’s not mention the shit in Chicago,” Alistair points out.

“Calm your ass down, little brother,” Zar says in a low voice, giving Alistair a stern look.

Alistair looks like he wants to say more but holds his tongue. I know how he feels, hell I would like nothing more than to bombard Santiago’s grounds with a hail of fire, but I don’t want innocent people to get killed just because we were reckless.

“Balthazar, Rory and I have another appointment we need to get to, but you know we’re always up for a little excitement, so by all means, call me when you’re ready to pay a visit to Santiago. I will personally clear our schedule,” Brogan laughs.

Zar chuckles, sitting his glass on the table, then standing. “I most definitely will, but I think we can handle it.”

Brogan rises from his seat, shaking Zar’s hand. “The offer is always open, my friend.”

“Thank you,” Zar tells him, then shakes Rory’s hand.

Zar walks them to the door, then opens it where two armed guards are stationed outside. Zar gives them a farewell, then closes the door, returning to the living room where the rest of us are waiting for his order.

He stops to glare at each one of us, then states, “Tomorrow, we take them down. I need to call Father and Grandfather to let them know what occurred today. Call your women and let them know you’re okay. Don’t go into too much detail but assure them that you’re fine because I’m sure they will hear about today on the news.”

Hendrix and Frankie stay at Zar’s, in the spare bedrooms while Alistair and I go to our condos. Mike, Lethal, Venom, and Blade leave for to the extra condo on the floor, but not before Mike informs Zar that Tech will be sending over some more of his gadgets in the morning.

I need a long hot shower to wash away the bullshit of today and get my head right for tomorrow, because after everything plays out, only one family will still be standing and it will be mine!
