“Excellent choice, Mr. Kourakos.” He carefully picked the ring up, then handed it to Alistair who began to examine it. “This is a three carat Pave’ Engagement ring, with a hidden Sapphire set in 14 karat gold. The asking price is just a little over forty thousand.”

I gasped. No wonder William grinned the way he did. Shit he was about to make one hell of a commission.

Alistair took my left hand, sliding it onto my ring finger. It was a perfect fit.

“Wow Hailey, it’s beautiful,” Devyn gushed, taking my hand from Alistair’s.

“I think so too, Little Sister,” he agreed, smirking at me as he tilted his head to the side.

I withdrew my hand from Devyn’s, staring at the ring. While it was breathtaking, I couldn’t let him spend that kind of money on me. This was insane, but I shouldn’t have expected anything less from Alistair.

“Alistair, this is too much,” I started as I began to remove the ring. Alistair brushed my hand to the side, then pushed the ring back up my finger.

“It’s perfect. Do not take it off...ever,” he stated with finality.

“But Alistair,” I protested.

He ignored me as he gazed over to William. “We’ll take the matching band as well. I also want the matching girl’s diamond tennis bracelet and earrings I saw in the front case for my sister.” Alistair took his wallet from the inside of his suit jacket, pulling out a Black card, handing it to William.

“Thank you, brother,” Devyn squealed as she jumped from her seat, throwing her arms around his neck.

“You’re welcome,” he responded, hugging her back.

“Mr. Kourakos, would you like me to put the other items in a bag?” William questioned as he stood.

Alistair continued to hug Devyn, replying “No, bring them to us so she can put them on.”

“Very well, sir,” William excitedly said before Alistair finally looked over at me and winked.

I narrowed my eyes at him. Two could play this game. “Um, William, before you go, you didn’t bring out any wedding bands for my husband. I’m sure as beautiful as this one is, surely there must be a matching one for him.” Alistair raised his eyebrow, as I winked back at him.

“You’re in luck! We actually do have one in stock. The asking price for it is thirty-two thousand. Would you like for me to bring it out?” William happily informed with dollar signs in his eyes.

Moving my eyes away from Alistair, I smiled up at William and stated, “Yes please, but go ahead and ring it up with the others. My husband won’t mind.” I side eyed Alistair, who along with Devyn, were smirking at me.

“Are you sure you don’t want to see it first,” William queried. He was probably praying that I would say no.

I brought my focus back to him, then shook my head no. “If it’s as gorgeous as mine, I’m sure my husband will love it. Just go ahead and ring everything up.”

William glanced over to Alistair who gave him a nod.

I held up my finger, getting William’s attention. “No need to check with him to see if it’s okay, money is no option, right dear?” I gazed at Alistair with a fake smile.

“You’re absolutely right, sweetheart,” he replied, showing a perfect set of white teeth as he waggled his brow. Crazy ass.

“I’ll be right back with the receipt and the complimentary care products for the jewelry,” William informed before he left us.

Looking down at the ring, I couldn’t help admiring it. When I was younger, I dreamed of the day I would be married. I would have this glamorous wedding with just a few bridesmaids. Peach, white, and grey would be my colors. All my friends and family would attend...except for my momma and Andre, of course. I would change who my groom would be from Edris Elba, Chris Evans, or whoever I was crushing on at the time, but never did I see myself married to someone like Alistair Kourakos. Was it a bad thing, that still has to be determined? For him to shell out this type of money on me, Devyn, and himself without a second thought, has me shaking my head.

“Hailey, isn’t it awesome Alistair did this for us,” Devyn inquired as she came to stand next to me.

I let my eyes move away from the enchanting ring, to look into my little sister’s eyes. “Yes, it is.”

“This is only the beginning,” Alistair announced as he took my hand with the ring, then gently kissed the back. He lightly blew cool air against my skin as he pulled his soft lips away, causing goose bumps to spread across it. My breath caught in my throat as Alistair’s brown eyes seemed to darken with lust. The little voice in my head was telling me to snatch my hand away, but for whatever reason, I kept it there as he began to caress it with his thumb.

“And here is your receipt and cleaning supplies Mr. and Mrs. Kourakos, as well as the ring, bracelet, and earrings. There’s also an envelope in the bag containing the insurance documents on each piece,” William announces, as he comes back to the table, holding a bag in one hand and a black velvet display tray holding the jewelry and the receipt, in the other. He sat the items on the table, taking his seat.

“Alistair, will you put my bracelet on for me,” Devyn asked.
