I regard Zar before whispering, “Do you think this is really necessary?”
“I most certainly do. If all of you are here, we’ll be worried about that pussy trying to get to one of you. With you all in Chicago, we can focus on ending him once and for all.” He grabs my hand then kisses the back of it. “Please don’t fight me on this, Nina.”
I exhale, nodding. This shit with Trent needed to end. I’m ready to start my new life with Balthazar, and if we have to go to Chicago while he and the others handle their business, then so be it.
Chapter 15
Balthazar
I think I’ve gotten a total of six hours sleep in the last forty-eight hours. We’re now on a private jet flying to Chicago. I finally had to exercise my authority the other night as Alistair and Hailey continued to argue back and forth about her and Devyn going with the ladies. I didn’t want to be a dick, but she needed to realize whether she thought so or not, she and Devyn were now a part of this bullshit with Trent.
Once that was settled, Nina and Janae took her in the living room to get GeeGee and Devyn. Nina was going to show them the room they would be staying in upstairs before she took them to our room to find some clothes for them.
Me and the men sat in the kitchen, getting everything in order. Mike called his guy, Tech, who was able to get ID’s for Hailey and Devyn. He went into the living room and took pictures of them, then sent the pictures to Tech. I decided when this is over, Mike and I were going to have a long conversation about him and his men. While Mike was on the phone, Alistair covered his mouth, then whispered something in his ear, causing Mike to smile. When I pulled him to the side and asked what did he say to Mike, Alistair just smirked, then walked off.
Xander made the reservations for the jet and the limo service while I gave Hendrix and Frankie their assignments since they were staying. I needed them here to keep an eye on things. Who knew when that snake Trent would show his face again?
After getting everything together, I told them to come back to the house around ten the next morning. It was already past four in the morning. I wasn’t surprised when Alistair said he was coming back after he went home and packed a bag.
The next morning Nina got up to go downstairs and help GeeGee cook breakfast for everyone. I clicked on the television and turned to the local news. I smiled when a reporter came on, standing in front of what used to be Trent’s BDSM club. It was damn near burned to the ground. That’s what his ass gets. He destroyed Nina’s club and now his was a pile of ash. The reporter went on to say the firefighters found charred human remains in the rubble and the police was starting an investigation. They have been trying to notify the owner but still aren’t able to contact him. And they won’t, Trent’s not going to tell the police shit. He’ll be ducking them just like he’s doing me.
After getting dressed, I went downstairs. The doorbell rang after I cleared the last step. I went to the door and opened it. Janae, Mike, and a geeky looking muscular guy with wire framed glasses, holding a briefcase stood on the other side. I moved to the side for them to enter, then close the door.
“Good morning, Zar. Where’s everybody,” Janae greeted, giving me a sisterly hug.
“I think they’re in the kitchen or dining room,” I returned. She left us standing there, going to find the others.
“Balthazar, this is Tech. Tech, this is my friend Balthazar,” Mike introduced.
Tech held out his hand. “Nice to meet you, Balthazar.”
I shook his hand, replying, “You too, Tech and you can call me Zar.”
“Cool, well I have everything you requested. You won’t have any problems with them, trust me,” Tech proudly said.
“Good to know. Let’s go join the others, breakfast should be ready,” I tell them.
I took them to the dining room where everyone was sitting, eating breakfast. “Everyone, this is Tech, Mike’s friend,” I told them before we washed our hands.
He greeted them, then shook Alistair’s hand after washing his. I chuckled when Alistair gave a death stare when Tech’s eyes lingered a little too long on Hailey.
We began to eat, when Xander, Hendrix, and Frankie came in. They washed their hands, then sat down with us. While we were eating, Alistair asked Tech about the ID’s.
“I have them right here,” Tech said, scooting his chair back, then picking up his briefcase. He pressed a sequence of numbers on the buttons, then the locks popped opened. He then took out a file and handed it to Alistair who opened it then smiled as he looked over what was inside. He then gave the file to Hailey.
Hailey’s eyes grew wide like saucers as she looked at the documents.
“No, no this is not right! Why do the ID’s have our last name as Kourakos and why is there a marriage license here with mine and Alistair’s name on it? And it’s signed!,” she shrieked.
So, that’s what Alistair whispered to Mike. I knew my little brother was certifiable but this puts him on a whole different level of crazy.
“This needs to be fixed,” Hailey said throwing the file on the table.
“We don’t have time for that,” Alistair told her, sipping his coffee with a smirk.
“I like the name Kourakos,” Devyn said, cutting into her pancakes.
Hailey rolled her eyes before she stated, “Tech, can you please have new ID’s for us when we return and do something about that marriage certificate?”
