I don’t give him time to react as I grip his hair, yank his head back, then slit his throat. I watch as his life fades from his eyes before letting his body fall to the side. Dropping the knife next to him, I go retrieve my gun. The gunfire has died down with Xander, Hendrix, and Frankie exchanging shots with to guys ducked down behind a Range Rover. With the SUV cloaking them, Alistair can’t get them from the roof. Tired of this bullshit and ready to get Nina and now GeeGee the hell away from here, I leave the side of the house, holding my finger on the trigger, discharging shot after shot, riddling them with bullets. Their bodies jerk like hand puppets as the bullets rip through them. When the gun starts to click, letting me know I’ve ran out of ammo, I remove my finger.

“What the hell Zar, I had it covered from up here,” Alistair complains, standing up.

I ignore him, as I stare at the bodies littering my yard.

“Shut up, Alistair,” I sneer, walking up the steps to the porch. Hendrix opens the door when I reach it. Stepping inside, my living room is destroyed from the gunfire.

Nina and GeeGee crowd my mind as I rush off to the second guest bedroom. Entering it, I go straight to the closet, dividing the clothes. I pressed my palm against on the wall that held a hidden palm scan. It looks like the wall to anyone else but only Alistair, Xander, and GeeGee knew where it was located. They already had their palms recorded and knew where to touch. When the wall slides to the side, I’m greeted by a gun aimed at my forehead.

“Damn it Nina, I told you about pulling guns on me,” I say as she lowers the gun.

Nina tucks the gun into the back of her jeans. “Well, I didn’t know who was going to be on the other side of the wall.”

I glance over at GeeGee who shakes her head, then back at Nina, smirking. “Bullshit, you could clearly see on the monitor that it was me on the other side of the wall.”

“And I could’ve clearly helped you, but you wouldn’t let me,” she throws back, walking past me.

Admiring her plump ass in her jeans, I ask, “Can I get my gun back?”

“Nope, this is your gift to me for keeping me held up in that room while you guys had all the fun,” she says over her shoulder, throwing up the deuces.

GeeGee steps up, placing her hand on my chest, getting my attention. “She is exactly like I told you. I damn near had to sit on top of her to keep her ass from leaving this room. You’re going to have hell on your hands the next time to try to keep her from being next to you.”

“I see,” I state, extending my hand to help her.

We find everyone in the living room, telling Nina how they took out Trent’s men. I cleared my throat, letting them know GeeGee and I were present.

“Hendrix will you help Nina get her stuff from our room,” I say more as an order than a question.

“You got it boss,” he replies, then walking off.

“Don’t be talking about me while I’m gone either,” Nina states, peering at me then following Hendrix.

“What’s the game plan now, big Brother,” Alistair questions, using a rag to clean off his gun.

I lean against the arm of the couch, then reply, “We’re going to my house where we should’ve gone in the first place. No one can get to it without us knowing. I thought this place would give us a few days to get shit together, but I never counted on that douche calling Nina’s phone.”

Xander pulls out his cell phone. “Let me call Brian to tell him to beef up security at your house. You can never be too cautious.” He places his phone to his ear, then leaves the room. Brian is the head of security at my house.

“I’ll call the cleanup crew to come this way. They’re going to get a big payout with your ass, Zar,” Alistair jokes.

“By the time this is over with, they’ll have enough to take their families on a long extended vacation,” I counter, wondering just how bad this was going to get.

“Frankie, go get the suitcases from my room. Thank God I haven’t had the time to unpack,” GeeGee states.

“Yes, ma’am,” Frankie replies, heading to GeeGee’s room.

Nina and Hendrix return with him carrying her suitcase and bag. I nod towards the door to Hendrix, letting him know to take her shit to my car. Seconds later, Frankie comes back in with a suitcase in each hand. Xander tells him to take GeeGee’s luggage to his SUV.

After making sure the guns were put back in their proper places, we jumped in our vehicles, heading back to the city. A larger cleanup crew was coming to the cabin to take care of the bodies, SUV’s, and board up the windows. I have to look into getting the repairs done at another time.

We’re taking the long way to my house. I don’t know which route Trent’s men took, so I wanted to play it safe and take different detours.

“Zar, I need to call Janae. She’s probably been blowing my phone up,” Nina says, looking over at me from the passenger seat.

“I don’t know, Nina. It might be too dangerous,” I tell her.

“Trent doesn’t know who Janae is. Whenever I tried to make plans for us to go a double date, so he could meet her and her husband, Mike, Trent always cancelled for one reason or another. Janae and I check in with one another every morning, so I know she’s thinking something is wrong if I’m not answering.”
