I was slowly starting to get impatient.

I frowned at him, showing off just how deep that crease could get.

He sighed and lifted his hand, then brushed his thumb between my brows.

“Juno, please go sit down on the couch,” he said, his voice quiet and dark.

Shit, why was I feeling like I did something wrong?

“She was here,” I whispered. “Why was she here?”

I didn’t wanna show any weakness, but the tears stinging my eyes had other ideas.

If this was a talk about us breaking up and him cheating, then I wish I wouldn’t have come home.

God, why did I have to see her leave?

Ezra took a deep breath and placed his hand on my hips, nodding toward the couch. “Go sit down and I’ll explain.”

So he wasn’t denying it.

Perfect.

“I’d rather stand,” I replied, my voice shaky.

My body felt numb, and moving would only cause the anger inside of me to burst out.

I needed to stay calm if he wanted to explain whatever Olivia did in our apartment.

Ezra didn’t speak for a while, instead, he watched me closely.

“I think sitting down is a better idea—”

“Why was she here, Ezra?” I asked, my voice louder now.

“Juno, please go sit down on the couch.”

He wasn’t giving up, but neither was I.

I didn’t care how stubborn I acted, but he had to tell me before I couldn’t keep it in anymore.

Crossing my arms over my chest, I tilted my head to the side to silently tell him that I wasn’t going to sit down.

“All right, fine.”

He threw his hands into the air, shrugging, then he walked over to the bedroom. “You’re ruining this for me, but I guess you won’t listen to me anyway.”

“Excuse me?” My jaw dropped. “How am I the bad guy here? Yourexwas here while I was out with Pixie! How dare you!”

As serious as I was, he didn’t seem fazed by this.

Not one bit.

What the hell?

I watched as he walked over to the bedroom door, but before he reached for it, he looked back at me with raised brows. “I’m telling you, Juno. You’re ruining this for me. And for yourself.”

What the hell was going on?
