In an hour. Juno’s still home.

Pushing my phone back into my pocket, I grabbed a beer out of the fridge and headed back into the living room to sit down on the couch.

I ran a hand through my hair, feeling my heartbeat picking up speed.

What the hell am I doing?

Juno

“Have fun you two,” Ezra said as he watched Pixie and me walk down the stairs, and I turned to him and smiled.

“Don’t miss me too much,” I told him.

He chuckled, gave me a quick wave, then closed the door.

He seemed different after I had taken a shower.

“You two make me wanna date every asshole on campus just to prove that Ezra is the nicest guy ever. Shame he didn’t have his eyes set on me.”

I laughed at her comment as we got into her car. “Maybe you’ll find a hot professor at your college.”

“All those men are old. Really old.”

“And that’s a problem?” I asked.

She raised a brow at me. “Would you have dated Ezra if he were in his fifties?”

Good question.

But not a difficult one.

“If he would’ve been exactly how he was when we met, then yes.”

No shame in that.

“Your daddy issues show, but I kinda like it. I won’t have to worry about you stealing my boyfriend,” Pixie said with a grin.

“True.”

“So, where am I taking us?” she asked as she turned onto the road.

“Oh, right. Just drive back toward the city central. We can park there. There’s a diner with live music.”

“Sounds fun!”

When we arrived, Jonah wasn’t someone I wanted to see tonight.

I grabbed Pixie’s hand and pulled her toward one of the empty booths and sat down with her, hoping he didn’t see me.

But luck wasn’t on my side today.

“Should’ve told me you came here tonight, babe.”

Jonah stopped at our booth with a smug grin on his face.

I rolled my eyes internally, then looked at Pixie to let her know what I thought of Jonah.

“And you are?” Pixie asked, looking up at him with a frown.
