Just what we both needed.
Ezra chuckled and pulled away, letting me get back to the cake.
“How are things in Florida, Pixie?” Ezra asked, now leaning against the counter with both hands behind him, keeping them safely tucked away before they could touch any more of my willing body.
“Great, actually. It’s a little crazy, but I’m getting used to it. You two should visit me one day. College is right next to the beach. You’ll love it there.”
Ezra and I were more into lakes and I preferred the cold instead of warm weather, but I guess a hot day at the beach in Florida didn’t sound too—nope, sounds horrible.
“We’ll make sure to put Florida onto our list of places we want to visit,” Ezra assured her, but I knew he didn’t wanna go either.
Talk about having the same interests and likes.
“Ezra, dear,” his mother said as she walked into the kitchen.
“Need something, Mom?” he asked.
“Oh, no, we got everything we need. We’re about to leave. Don’t wanna drive right into the snowstorm coming up.”
“Juno was just about to give you guys some cake,” Ezra said, pointing at me.
I smiled at Eliza, then waved my hand. “I can wrap some up for you, that’s no problem,” I told her.
“Thank you, dear. We really wanna get home safe.”
I nodded, understanding that driving in a snowstorm wasn’t easy or fun.
Besides…the sooner they left, the sooner I’d be with Ez alone.
“We should be going too. It’s a bit of a drive to get home,” Mom said, walking up beside Eliza.
“It was a lovely dinner. Thank you for the invite,” she added.
I smiled and cut the last piece of cake, then turned to look at them again. “I’ll get the cake ready.”
“Are you coming with us, Pixie?” Mom asked.
“Yes, I’ll have to pass on the cake anyway. I’ve not been this full in a long time.”
Ezra chuckled and pushed himself away from the counter to walk them over to the living room. “Well, thank you all for coming. You’re always welcome to visit. Just let us know,” he said.
“Thank you, son,” I heard Charles say.
I loved Ezra’s relationship with his dad.
They were very close, and just listening to their conversations was amazing.
I wrapped all the cake pieces with Pixie’s help, then walked over to them and gave two to my moms, and the others to Eliza and Charles.
“Get home safe. And thank you so much for coming,” I told them.
“Anytime, and don’t shy away to come over to the bar one day. I told Ezra to take you there a long time ago. Guess you two have a full schedule,” Charles said.
I looked at Ezra, wondering if he ever told me that they invited us.
“I’m sure we can find the time soon. Thanks, Dad.”
We said goodbye to them all, promising that we would visit his and my parents soon.
