“You should’ve said something,” I whispered, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and digging my hands into his hair.

It had grown over the year, and I loved every little curl that poked out from underneath his thick locks.

He looked incredibly handsome with the turtleneck sweater he had on.

“You’ve probably been in there for hours,” he chuckled.

Pretty much.

I loved taking long, hot showers, with or without him.

He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine, and with his hands, he moved to my lower back to pull me closer against his body.

I missed this every day when he was gone, and today was the last day we would be apart.

His break started right after the concert was over, and I couldn’t wait to have him all to myself for several weeks.

We didn’t really make any plans, but we knew we wanted to one day drive back home and spend a few days on the island.

I missed it, and the last time we went was last summer.

His hands moved further down to cup my ass, and after giving it a tight squeeze, he broke the kiss to look at me.

“Let me go get ready,” he told me, looking down at my outfit with a smile. “I’ll be quick.”

“Okay.”

He pressed one more kiss to my cheek before heading into the bathroom, and I walked over to the kitchen to put away the things I used for breakfast this morning.

I was lazy, and the dishes often stayed in the sink until Ez got back.

I was lucky enough to get a job at the café on campus, but since it closes over the holidays, I didn’t have to go in until next year.

That job allowed me to help pay for rent and food.

No way I was gonna let him pay for everything himself.

This Christmas would be the first time his and my parents would come over and meet each other, which was nerve-wracking.

I loved Ezra’s parents, but I was nervous about them meeting my moms.

It would also be the first time Ezra and I would cook for them all, which made me more nervous than our parents meeting.

“Juno?” Ezra called out from the bathroom.

The tone of his voice sounded slightly annoyed, and I already knew what it was that he wanted to complain about.

I pressed my lips into a tight line and walked back to the bathroom, and after sliding open the door, I saw him standing there, naked and wet, with a bottle of shampoo in his hand that didn’t belong to either of us.

“Seriously?” he asked with a raised brow, but even he couldn’t keep a straight face after a few seconds.

“Juno,” he said with a laugh. “You should spend that money on things we actually need. We’re not getting a dog,” he told me, placing the dog shampoo back on the holder next to our own.

“Are you sure about that?” I asked, scrunching up my nose and tilting my head. “Because I’m pretty sure I heard you say that we’ll get one after Christmas.”

He shook his head and snorted, grabbing his shampoo and washing his hair. “And I’m pretty sure I don’t talk in my sleep. If you keep buying dog toys and all that stuff, I’m gonna make you use them so it’s not a waste of your money.”

“I think a dog might have more fun with it,” I said, my expression serious now.
