“Nice talking to you, Perry. I’ll see you around campus,” Amina says and turns to walk away.
My heart sinks when she begins to say her goodbyes to the group as she gathers her things. I’m not ready for her to go. I don’t want any of them to leave, but it’s clear the party is over.
“Let’s get ready for bed,” Kay purrs up at me.
“You go ahead. I’m going to help Cal clean up. You know he’s not going to go to bed until this place is spotless and put back to the exact way it was before they all came over.”
“You’re right about that. I’ll help out too. I think Nicole is spending the night.” She wiggles her brows at me.
“Then he needs the help. I’m sure his brain is already overstimulated.”
“I have something I want to overstimulate,” she purrs and cups my junk.
“You’re staying over?” I lift a brow.
She hasn’t been staying over as much lately, so I’m taken by surprise. She bites her lip and gives me a seductive smile as she bobs her head. Running her hands up my chest she lifts to her toes to kiss me.
I go with it, but something feels off. It’s never been like this before. I can’t help wondering what has changed.
Not just tonight. Something has been different for a while. I’ve just been overlooking it and focused on other things in my life.
Why doesn’t this feel natural?
CHAPTER 26
Thanks for Coming
Kayleen
Two months later …
“Thanks for being here, Kay,” JR murmurs into my neck as we lay in bed. It means a lot to me to have your support during this.”
“Are you nervous?”
“Not really. I wasn’t going to declare for this draft. My dad wants me to play football. I was going to declare for basketball only.
“We agreed that if I’m still on the board after the first and second rounds, then I’d play basketball. Whatever happens in the next few days, I’ll be fine with it.”
“Do you think you have a shot at the first or second round?”
“Nope.”
I laugh and turn in his arms to face him. “No wonder you’re happy with whatever happens.”
He pecks me on the lips as he runs his hand down my naked body under the covers. I smile at him as his eyes light up while he looks at me.
“I’m happy because you’re here. Everything else will be a cherry on top.”
“You promised we wouldn’t talk about any of that.”
“Any of what? I’m just letting you know I’m happy you’re here.”
“Okay, fine. What are we going to do for the rest of the night?”
He gives me a wicked smile and rolls me onto my back. I cry out as he thrusts into me. Clinging to his back, I stare up at the ceiling, wondering what I’m doing.
“Oh my God,” I cry out as he picks up the pace.
