This is un-fucking-believable. Those assholes broke into our box and ruined our night. How the fuck did Maribel and I end up in cuffs?

I had no choice but to call my daddy to get us out of this mess. He said he’d be on a plane or helicopter or whatever would get him here fastest to get us out of here. I’m pissed because he should be with Caleb, not coming to rescue me.

He didn’t sound happy about this, but he wasn’t about to let them cart me and Maribel off to jail. That’s what they were trying to do at first. This is all bullshit.

Everything was fine until one of the security guards started acting like an asshole while questioning Maribel. I saw this shit coming and I exploded without thinking. Sometimes I believe having Cal around is a good thing for me. I think first when he’s with me.

“Cameron, what the heck is going on?” Daddy growls as he storms into the room they’ve been holding us in.

I stand with my hands still behind my back. Maribel is sitting with an ice pack against her cheek, but her hands are still cuffed as well. The only reason she has the ice pack is because I threatened to sue once this was all straightened out.

“We did nothing wrong. Those guys crashed our box and then tried to attack my friend. It was self-defense. I mean, look at her fucking face. They locked the door and had planned to assault her, not knowing I was on the other side of the restroom door,” I say.

Daddy looks to Maribel with his mouth hanging open. When he gets a look at her holding the ice pack to her face, rage fills his eyes. He moves closer and holds out his hand.

“I’m Cam’s daddy. Kyle Perry. Nice to meet you, darlin’. You mind if I take a look?”

She drops her hands to shake his as best she can with the cuffs on. Daddy hisses when her face comes into view. Her cheek has a huge bruise on it.

“The other guy looks much worse. I’m Maribel. It’s nice to meet you, sir.”

“None of that. You call me Kyle. You’re a pretty little thing. Not even that little bruise there can take that away from you.”

“I hope not. I would hate to have to sue your son for my failed modeling career.”

Daddy narrows his eyes at her, but the wrinkle line around his eyes forms as he realizes she’s just pulling his leg. He rumbles with laughter and throws his head back. When he finishes his laugh, he looks at me with a smile.

“She has your smart-ass sense of humor. I like her.” He then turns on his heels. “I bought that box for my sons to enjoy with their friends. If you don’t get them out of those cuffs in the nextfive seconds, I’m going to have all your jobs, and you’ll never work within the next three states bordering any side of Texas.”

The asshole who started all this rushes to uncuff me first. I tug away from him. “Get hers off first. She should’ve never had them on,” I snarl.

He pulls a face but goes to uncuff Maribel as he mutters under his breath. One of the others comes to uncuff me. I rub my wrists as I move over to Maribel.

“Hey, you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” she says.

“This isn’t over. I’ll deal with the stadium later. Let’s go get something to eat.

“You can tell me why you like hanging with this guy instead of spending Christmas with your family,” Dad says.

I stiffen. The last thing I want is for her to feel pressured into talking about her situation. However, in true Maribel fashion, she surprises me and makes my dad laugh again.

“I only hang with guys willing to fight for me. Your son is hot and he can throw hands, so I’m giving him my time this year. He was lonely and a little desperate for a friend.

“In the spirit of Christmas, I took pity on him. I mean, look at him,” she replies.

“Whatever, Rocky,” I chuckle.

She winks at me. “I told you I got hands.”

“That you did, darlin’.”

I should be having fun with my friends, but I’ve been sulking in the corner by myself. This party would be more fun if Cam were here. However, he’s not speaking to me.
