Eyeing her for a few moments, I slumped my shoulders forward and blew out a breath that I had been holding since I had seen her in here. “How’d you find out about us anyway? Did he tell you?”

“At the office, it was kinda obvious when your father stepped out of the room.”

“Oh.”

Stupid me for forgetting that she had basically watched him scold me the other day for not coming to Radiant. I wondered what else she had seen. Had she been watching the entire time? Maybe she’d heard me crying his name after he tied me up.

“Are you going to see him tonight?” she asked in an attempt at small talk.

“Yes.”

After washing and drying her hands, she pulled out some bright red lipstick from her purse and tilted her head toward me. “Here.” She swiped it across my lips. “Not that you need it, but I’ve always thought this color would look hot on you.”

My eyes widened slightly. “You … what?”

“I’ve always thought it’d look sexy on you,” she repeated.

An awkward—or maybe I was just making it awkward—silence fell upon us.

Then, she cleared her throat. “So, um, about your dad and me …”

“I won’t say anything to him about me knowing about you two as long as you don’t say anything to him about Hector and me,” I said, extending my arm and holding out my hand, as if we were making some business transaction.

“Deal.” She giggled. “You know, you’re nicer than I thought you’d be.”

I turned toward the mirror and rubbed my lips together. “Oh God, what, do I look like a bitch?”

“No, but I’ve mostly been jealous of you,” she said, tucking some hair behind her ear. Her diamond earrings looked like a gift that Dad had definitely picked out for her. “When I got hired, I had a major crush on your dad.”

I scrunched my nose. “Ew.”

“At first, I thought he liked you because he talked about you all the time—and still does. And you’re so pretty.” Another giggle. “But then I found out you were his daughter, and I was so embarrassed.”

“Oh, stop it,” I said, playfully pushing her away. “You literally look like a beauty influencer.”

But I couldn’t get past the fact that … Dad talked about me. And if Evelyn had been jealous of the way he did talk about me, then it must’ve been all good, right? But that didn’t make sense, as he wasalwaysmaking me feel … lesser.

Or maybe that was just the way I thought he treated me … the way I felt when comparing myself to my brother …

After Evelyn grabbed her purse, she headed for the door. “I’ll try to convince your dad to leave, but we just got here. And I’m not sure he’s going to want to go anytime soon.” She glanced over her shoulder. “But I’ll try.”

Once she slipped out of the restroom, I leaned against the counter and smiled softly at the closed door. I never thought that I would ever like Evelyn because her looks were so damn intimidating, but she seemed sweet.

After pausing for a few more minutes in the restroom to give her time to convince Dad to leave, I snuck out of the restroom and tiptoed down the hallway, glancing around the doorway to see into the main room.

Someone slapped a hand over my mouth and yanked me into a dark hallway.

“Don’t say a word,” Hector whispered into my ear. “Your father is still here.”

I glanced around the doorway and spotted Dad sitting with a bunch of other men I recognized from Hector’s company and then pulled my head back into the hallway so he wouldn’t see me.

“How are we going to get upstairs?” I asked.

Hector pressed against me from behind, grinding his dick on my ass. “We’re not.”
