Instead of responding to her, Acaros turned us around and marched us all the way out of the castle. I stumbled onto the white walkway toward Chastion and looked over my shoulder to see Dani smirking and waving me off.

After a couple of moments, Acaros released his harsh grip on me. “I’m sorry.”

“What?” I asked, taken aback and looking up at him.

“I’m sorry,” he repeated.

“For what?”

“I had to take care of that prick,” he said through gritted teeth. “And I left you alone.”

“It’s okay. But where did you take Clayton?”

After a low growl, he cut his eyes to me. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Did you kill him?”

“No.”

I crossed my arms. “Why don’t I believe that?”

“He’s in Wrath.”

“What’s Wrath?”

“Wrath is a kingdom of lava in Hell where demons reside. I brought him to the torture?—”

“You’re torturing him?!” I exclaimed. “But he’s so sweet.”

“He wanted to fuck you.”

“So, you’re going to throw everyone who has ever wanted to fuck me in some torture pits?!” I asked, throwing my hands up. When he didn’t react, I re-crossed my arms and looked toward the garden. “Besides, you can’t do that. There are not enough pits to hold all the men?—”

“Don’t finish that fucking sentence,” he growled. “Who are they?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?”

“Yes, I would.” He snapped his hand around my elbow. “Now.”
