I narrowed my eyes at Varoth, wishing that he’d drop it.
But if I had actually wanted him to drop it, if I had not really been into Iza, then when I had seen her this morning, I wouldn’t have followed her out into the alleyway. And I really wouldn’t have brought her back into the café to fuck her.
Though after last night and this morning, I couldn’t get her out of my head.
Her sweet scent. Those eyes. How her breath quickened around me.
Incubi always had an effect on women, and I had made so many women’s heart race, breath hitch. But I had felt nothing for them. Absolutely nothing until Iza. Until last night. Until her.
Eros curled his lips into a smirk. “Still getting off on your summoning?”
Dani leaned forward, breasts pressing against the table. “Do you have a crush?”
“No,” I said sharply.
Because I didn’t trustanydemons. Sometimes not even my friends.
It didn’t matter what kingdom a demon was from; they were all known to backstab each other for a plethora of reasons. If anyone saw Iza, they would do anything to have her in bed. Varoth and Bazzon had already commented on her this morning on the return through the portal.
My claws cut into my palms. I wanted to slice their throats open for it.
“It’s not a crush. Just some good pussy.” I sipped my Passion Delight. “Virgin.”
“First time with a virgin?” Dani giggled. “Must’ve been good. You’re blushing.”
I dropped my mouth into a frown, but held back a growl so I didn’t offend her. With half-angel, half-demon blood running through her veins, Dani was one of the most powerful beings in all of Hell. Her power comparable to God herself. Rumor had it that Dani was preparing to go to war with God after she captured one of God’s angels last month.
“It was okay,” I lied.
“Acaros met her again this morning,” Varoth hummed. “She’s so fucking hot.”
Before I could even stop myself, I snapped my hand around his neck and squeezed. He had been one of my best friends since we had been mere children, but I had told him to drop her as the topic of our conversation in the portal.
Now this?
Dani giggled again, and I blew out a low breath and released my grip on him. After muttering an apology to the queen, I returned to my Passion Delight and glared at the roses just outside the patio.
I shouldn’t fucking feel this way. She was a human—that was all.
“Why don’t you relax with Qina?” Bazzon suggested, gesturing for Qina.
Not Qina. Anyone but Qina.
Qina danced at Rebel and for Dani at many of her gatherings and balls, and she’d had a major crush on me for years now.
“Acaros,” Qina whispered, her voice like a snake traveling across the table as she approached us, her hips swaying side toside and a smirk painted across her red lips. “Seems I’ve been summoned to help you out a bit.”
“I’m not interested tonight, Qina,” I murmured.
“Oh, come on,” Varoth taunted. “You’re not falling for a human, are you?”
Nostrils flaring because I wasn’t falling for any human, especially not one that I had only met last night and had zero connection with, I pushed my chair back. The legs scratched the stone floor underneath it. Then, I grabbed Qina’s hand.
“We’ll be in a Lust Room,” I growled.
Qina giggled and followed after me, bouncing on her toes like the happiest fucking woman in the world because I, Acaros, was bringing her into a Lust Room—a place in demon bars where Lust demons could fuck—after years of sucking up to me and flirting nonstop with me, even after I showed her no interest.
But I didn’t want Varoth and Bazzon pulling my fucking leg about a human anymore.
