My eyes widened. “I-I’m going to get it?”

A smirk crossed his face. “Yes.”

With that, he turned on his heel, walked out of the bedroom, and shut my door behind him. I stared at the closed door through wide eyes and set down my purse on my nightstand, then spotted the light in Jada’s room turn on through my window.

Suddenly, her shadow pressed up against the curtains, and then a man—a demon—much, much larger than ProfessorLaufer’s human form, stepped behind her and seized her hips. I pulled my curtains shut to give them privacy and fell back on the bed, heart pounding.

Oh God … I fucked up.

CHAPTER

TWENTY

IZA

I satin Professor Laufer’s class with an exam in front of me, but my mind was freaking racing because of what he had told me last night. Acaros would find me. But when? Soon? After classes for the day? Would he return to my place?

And what the hell had he meant when he said that people were after me? Did Acaros know?

After peering up at Professor Laufer, who walked up and down the aisles with his arms crossed and his gaze onme, I stared through wide eyes at the exam. Why the hell was he looking at me like that?!

Suddenly, someone placed their hand on my shoulder from behind, and I jumped. Their other hand wrapped around the front of my mouth, and he pulled me to a standing position, his body pressed against mine.

“Hellcat, you’re in trouble,” Acaros growled into my ear. “Where were you last night?”

“I … we—” My words were muffled. I glanced up at Professor Laufer, who still looked over.

Acaros pulled me out into the walkway and twirled me around, so I leaned against the edge of the desk and stared up at him, his hand still on my mouth. My eyes widened even more, and I nervously glanced around because he was in his demon form!

Could … could people see us?

All the students were still completing their exams, and nobody had looked over. Yet.

“There’s a demon in this class,” Acaros said, “who has been following you around.”

My eyes widened. The only person who had done that washim!

“Trying to take you from me,” he growled, scanning the room with blazing eyes.

“Acaros,” I whispered against his hand, “could it be Prof?—”

Before I could finish my sentence, Acaros twirled me around again and picked me right up into the air, my back against his huge chest and his arms wrapped underneath my legs. My skirt bunched up by my hips, giving the class a view of my panties.

“Acaros!” I whisper-yelled.

“Remember what I told you last time, Hellcat. If you yell, they’ll hear you.See you.”

But how would he find who was after me? Or maybe … this was my punishment for not coming to see him last night. But I mean, come on; he could’ve come to see me, but he hadn’t. Instead, I had been jump-scared by Laufer.

“Only demons can see us,” he said, ripping off my underwear and dropping them in the middle of the walkway. He positioned himself at my entrance. “I’ll kill whoever’s ass who looks up to watch me fuck you.”

My eyes widened, and I glanced over at Professor Laufer.

While I wanted to tell him that it was Professor Laufer—that it had to be because I had seen him last night—if I said a word, then someone would hear me. But even if I wanted to, Acaros gave menowarning before plunging right into me.

Body shaking in pleasure, I bit down on my lip to muffle a scream.

Nobody looked up.
