“Wait!” I said, ripping the tape off his mouth and shoving the dildo from my glove box into his mouth. I snapped it shut with the tape so he couldn’t spit it back out. “Choke on a fucking dick, you prick.”

Allie straddled his waist to keep him relatively still as she twirled the tape roll around his wrist so he couldn’t fight back. And then she slammed her fist into his pretty-boy face as hard as she could, breaking his nose in three places.

“Kick his ass!” Nicole said, slamming her heel into his abdomen.

We kicked, hit, and punched the helpless asshole, who flopped around like a worm on the ground, covering his head and shielding his face. And while he was on the football team, he was no match for seven women he’d pissed off.

Sakura even got a couple of punches in on him too, which surprised me because she was a good girl who barely said a few words. But between this and Mr. Avery, that girl had a wild side that I wanted to see more of.

Ah, peer pressure at its finest.

At some point, one of the girls pulled out a stick of Sin lipstick and used it to write all over his skin with the wordspiece of shit, asshole, dickhead, and more expletives that anyone at Redwood would agree with.

If Alec found out about this, he’d be so angry with me, but I couldn’t stop beating the shit out of Carter. I wanted the world—especially Redwood—to burn for what they had done to all of us because it wasn’t fair. None of this was fair.

But after a few moments, Carter stopped grunting and stopped protecting himself altogether.

I pushed myself off him and stood up with the rest of the girls, mouth parting slightly.

Vera stepped back, blood dripping from her fist. “I-is he dead?”

CHAPTER48

MADDIE

Imani nudged Carter’s unmoving body with her sneaker. “I’ll call Poison.”

Tears welled up in Vera’s eyes, and she backed up. “Maddie, we killed someone!”

“He’s not dead,” I said. Well, I hoped not because that’d be bad.

“I can call Callan too,” Sakura whispered.

Allie arched a brow. “What will he do?”

Sakura sucked in her inner cheek and rocked back on her heels. “You’d be surprised.”

“Isn’t Mr. Avery in the Redwood mob?” Nicole asked.

Sakura blushed. “Not anymore.”

“Not after I killed—” Imani started.

“Killed who?” João, the leader of Poison, said through the phone.

Imani walked down the street, pacing by my car to talk to João. Thankfully, we were able to drag Carter behind some dark bushes so nobody could see him—or us—standing over his heavy body.

Vera grabbed my arm. “Why did we do this?! We’re going to be in so much trouble!”

“It’ll be fine, Vera,” I whispered. “Poison will take care of it.”

“What if they don’t?” she said. “I don’t want to go to jail.”

“Then, you’d better wipe his blood off your knuckles,” I said.

After a couple of moments, Imani walked back over. “They’ll be here in five.”

Allie crouched over Carter, brow furrowed. “Do you think he’s really?—”
