My stomach twisted into tight knots, and I glanced around for something to protect me.
Because Oliver had always been here to protect me. Because I didn’t trust Spencer in the slightest. Because I guessed that I had always been an easy target for people like him to take advantage of and embarrass for entertainment.
“I wanted to talk,” Spencer said, taking another threatening step toward me.
When my back hit the wall, I quickly scooted away from it and tried to steer myself toward the open door that led to the living room. He was blocking my exit to leave the house, and if I turned around and sprinted toward it, Spencer could snatch me up quickly in his arms.
“We don’t need to talk about anything.”
“Yes, we do.”
“Then, what?” I asked through gritted teeth. “What do you want?”
Spencer smirked. “You’re dating Redwood’s new player. Guess you didn’t have anyone new to fawn over after I left Redwood to go on to bigger and better things, Weber. Hmm? You’re missing me so much that you decided to go for Alec Wolfe?”
“I don’t miss you.”
Only he would come up with some shit like that.
Balling my hands into fists, I hardened my glare, tired of being mentally thrown around by him. I was drained from school today, and I didn’t have the patience right now. “I’m having a bad day. Leave.”
“Oh,” he said, dragging out the word, just like he used to do. “You know I can’t do that.”
After hardening my glare, I sank my nails into my palms. “You’re the one who fucked with me, huh? Are you the one who’s been texting me to scare me too? Did you release that shit on Alec’s accounts?”
“As much as I wish I could take credit for that, I didn’t do it.”
Spencer gave me that shit-eating grin, and I so desperately wanted to hurl my fist into his assholey face. I hated him so much.
Crossing his arms, he moved toward me. “But you know I love to see you squirm. I’ll have to find out who did it and thank them.”
“I hate you,” I said through gritted teeth. “So damn much!”
“Come on, Maddie.” Spencer stepped closer to me. “I know you really miss me.”
“I don’t miss you. I havenevermissed you. You’re the most delusional man I have ever met!”
Before I could stop him, he shoved me against the wall and trapped me between his arms. “You don’t miss this, darling? You don’t miss me touchingevery fucking inchof your body, my lips on your cunt, your legs trembling, even in Redwood’s classrooms?”
I shoved my hands into his chest. “Get away from me!”
Instead of budging, he moved closer to me and dipped his head, his nose on my neck. I slammed my hands against his body again, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt and banging my fists against his muscle.
“Please, Spencer!”
“I’m not going anywhere, Maddie,” Spencer said. “We were dating, and your fucking brother couldn’t handle that fucking shit and broke us up. I’m not letting you fuck that loser, who’d much rather sleep with half the cheer team.”
My chest tightened, but I knew he was just trying to make me angry.
“Stop it.” I was seething. “Stop it now.”
“You don’t know what he did after the first night you were together, huh?”
“We weren’t even a couple yet,” I growled, crossing my arms. He was pulling shit out of his ass now, and I needed to stop listening to him before he got into my head. “I don’t care about what Alec did back then.”
Alec Wolfe was mine now.
Spencer grinned. “Not even if it involved Sandra?”
