“They found me here, which means they’ll find you here even when I’m not. I’m not letting them touch you, Cass. This is my mess, not yours.”
Tears well in my eyes. “We’ll face it together. I’m going to do what I can to help you. No matter what, okay? You’re my brother, Sean. It’s just me and you now, and I’m not going to lose you.”
Sean looks defeated, but he pulls me in for a hug, and I gently wrap my arms around him so I don’t hurt him.
“I love you, Cass. I’m sorry.”
“I love you, too.”
I know he’s sorry. I know he wishes we were dealt a different hand in life, but so do millions of other people. I’ve tried to make the most of what I have, and remind myself to keep pushing through no matter what. This is just another bump in the road. I’m not giving up on the only family I have left.
~ Chapter 7 ~
Nico
Cassie knocks on my door a little after noon, and goddamn, she’s beautiful. Her red hair is wavy today and cascades down from her head like a wall of silk. I reach for it without thinking, rubbing it between my fingers to feel how soft it is.
I look into her bright blue eyes and notice they’re extra guarded today, with a hint of sadness. I open my mouth to ask her what’s wrong, but she grabs the front of my shirt and pulls me towards her as she lifts up on her toes to meet me halfway – silencing whatever I was about to say with a kiss.
Whatever she has on her mind, she clearly wants to forget, and I can definitely help her with that. My one hand dives into her hair while my other takes her waist, dragging her inside my room.
With the click of the door closing, I lift Cassie up, and she wraps her legs around my hips. It’s déjà vu as I walk her back to my bedroom, except this time, I know exactly what I’m in for.
Cassie kisses me like I’m her source of air and she’s drowning, desperate for more. She claws at the back of my neck and runs her fingers up my scalp.
Fuck, that feels good.
I groan into her mouth and she tightens her legs around me.
In my room, I waste no time, and throw us both down on top of my bed, deepening our kiss until Cassie is writhing beneath me, trying to find any friction she can.
I make quick work of ridding her of her sweater, jeans, and shoes, and take a moment to look down at her and commit tomemory her flushed skin, swollen lips, and pulse jumping out of her neck.
She’s effortlessly sexy.
It’s engrained in everything she does.
But her in a matching light pink bra and panties?Fuck me. She knows how to drive me crazy.
“This color looks good on you, piccante.” Her eyes lighten and then narrow, and I grin. “Not in the mood for compliments, I see.” She shakes her head. “Or talking.” She shakes her head again.
“We both know why I’m here.”
“Maybe I want to hear it,” I challenge, scraping my teeth over my bottom lip – a movement her eyes follow with heated attention.
Her blue eyes pierce mine. “Fuck me, Nico.”
“No sweeter words have ever been spoken.” I wink, and make quick work of my clothes, tossing them on the floor with hers. Standing above her, I grip my cock in my hand and she licks her lips, her eyes once again following my every move.
Being the impatient little minx that she is, Cassie reaches behind her back and unclasps her bra, pulling it from her body and tossing it to the side.
“That’s my job,piccante.”
“You weren’t fast enough. You were staring again.”
I try and hide my smile by gliding my hand across my lips and chin, but she sees it and cups her perfect tits in her hands – squeezing and pushing them together.
“If you’re going to keep laughing at me, I’ll start without you and you can watch all you’d like without touching me the way I know you want to.”
