CHAPTER 32

Roman

“Speaking of moms. Are you going to call yours and tell her she’s going to be a grandma?”

“Do I have to?” Morgan whined.

“Yeah, babe. You do.”

“I’ll think about it.” She kissed my lips and jumped off the bed.

“Where are you going?”

“To get my phone so we can order a pizza. I’m starving.”

I lay there with my hands behind my head and thought about how this house would be overrun in eight months with baby items and a crying baby. I felt its weight in my chest and wouldn’t lie and say I wasn’t scared. I was closing one chapter of my life and starting another. A chapter that included a beautiful woman whom I was deeply in love with and a kid on the way—a new chapter that would continue on for the rest of our lives.

The following day, we got up, made coffee, and took it out on the patio.

“I sent a text to my brothers to stop at the bakery and pick up some pastries,” I said, bringing the coffee cup to my lips.

“Pastries sound good. I’m going to call my Uncle Louie today and tell him about the baby.”

“Am I ever going to get to meet Uncle Louie?” I smirked.

“Yes, you’ll meet him. He’ll love you.” A beautiful smile graced her lips.

The sliding door opened, and my brothers stepped onto the patio.

“We bring sugar delight.” Julian grinned, setting the box of pastries on the patio table.

“Go make yourselves a coffee and sit down. I have something to tell you,” I told them.

“It sounds serious. Bro, it’s too early for seriousness,” Julian said.

“Just go get your coffees and get your asses back out here.”

A few moments later, Parker and Julian joined us around the table.

“What do you have to tell us?” Parker asked.

I reached over and took hold of Morgan’s hand. “Morgan is pregnant. I’m going to be a father.”

“Excuse me?” Julian spit out the coffee he’d just sipped.

“Wow. A baby?” Parker cocked his head.

“Oh, come on, bro. I don’t like kids, but now I’ll have to like yours because it’ll be my niece or nephew.”

“That’s right.” I pointed at him. “And it’ll be your job as an uncle to spoil him or her rotten.”

“Congratulations.” Parker stood from his seat and hugged Morgan and me. “I can’t believe there’s going to be a baby in the family.”

“I can’t either. But I am happy for both of you. Comehere.” Julian stood and hugged us. “I promise to try and like the kid.”

“You’re such a douchebag.” I chuckled, punching his shoulder.

“Have you told the moms yet?” Parker asked. “They’re going to flip out in a good way.”
