“Speaking of Morgan, where is she?”
“In the conference room looking into Love. What did you two do last night after leaving Mom’s house?”
“Hit up the bar, met a chick, took her home, fucked, kicked her out, went to bed.” Julian smiled.
“Same,” Parker said.
“And you would have been right there with us if Morgan wasn’t around, and you know it.” Julian pointed at me.
“But she is around and the only woman I want to have sex with.”
“What are you going to do when she goes back to New York?” Parker asked.
“What do you mean? Life will go on after she leaves.”
My office door opened, and Morgan walked in.
“Good morning, boys. I’m happy you’re all here. I have some information on one Miss Love McCallan.”
“What did you find?” I asked, leaning back in my chair.
“I found that she’s squeaky clean.”
“Oh, come on,” Julian said. “You had to have found something.”
“Sorry, Julian.” I shook my head. “There’s nothing. She pays her bills on time, has a decent credit score, and she’s never been arrested.”
“Dig deeper,” Julian said.
“Bro, stop.” I sighed. “If there were something, Morgan would have found it.”
“Here’s your motion, Roman.” Olivia walked in and handed me a file folder.
“Thanks, Olivia. Morgan, let’s go.” I stood from my desk and grabbed my suit coat.
“Where are we going?”
“To talk to the judge.”
“Why do I have to go?” she asked.
“Because I may need you there if the judge gives me a hard time. You found the connection between Gregory and Grace.”
Ollie dropped us off in front of the courthouse. I grabbed my briefcase, climbed out of the car, and Morgan and I walked into the building.
“How do you know the judge is even available?” Morgan asked.
“I pulled up his docket. He doesn’t have a case until noon. Good morning, Yazmin.” I smiled.
“Morning, Mr. Hamilton. What can I do for you?”
“We need to speak to Judge Barrister.”
“I’ll see if he’s available.” She stood and went into his office. “He’ll see you, Mr. Hamilton.”
“Thanks, Yazmin. Good morning, judge.” I stepped inside with a smile.
“Mr. Hamilton, what brings you by?”
