“Okay, so you flew me by yourself in a private jet to Charleston, and now you’re driving me in a Ferrari to spend the night in a mansion on the water?”
“It’s not like I own any of these things and can provide them to you on a daily basis.”
I don’t know why I feel the need to downplay the evening, but I just want to make sure she knows this is not a typical weekend for me either. I can’t do these things for her all the time. Just because I can physically fly a plane doesn’t mean I have a plane to fly.
She sighs. “Giving you a compliment is like trying to give a kid a vegetable. It’s nearly impossible.”
Chapter Twenty-Two
Layla
How have I never realized the insecurities that run so deep in Josh? He’s been such a fun-loving individual to everyone around him. It never occurred to me that he would be struggling internally so much.
There seems to be some conflict within him between doing what he loves, living a simple life, and being the man he thinks he needs to be.
Sure, having these experiences is amazing and fun. If we happen to get the opportunity to enjoy amenities like these, why not take it? But I don’t need or even want these things in my life. I’ve lived a middle-class upbringing and got thrust into an upper-class life when my dad’s business really took off.
I’ve seen the difference in the people who start to make more money than they know what to do with. I would choose any easy, middle-class life any day of the week.
The problem is getting Josh to understand that.
He pulls into the driveway of a massive white mansion with a huge southern wrap-around porch. The driveway runs up tothe side of the house, where Josh uses the garage door opener in the car to park the car in the four-car garage.
“Alright, here we are,” he cuts the engine and turns to me.
After he gets our bags, he takes my hand and leads me into the house. He walks me into the kitchen, which has large white cabinets and white marble countertops. The island is the size of my bathroom at home.
There are huge glass doors that slide back, creating no barrier between the back patio and the kitchen. There is a large pool with southern live oak trees all around. I can see the water in the distance, with a large dock.
The island is covered with food, and a wine bucket chilling some white wine with two glasses. There are candles lit all around the pool.
“Josh, what did you do?” I whisper as my eyes start to water.
He steps up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, kissing a path along my neck. “I wanted to spoil you, to do something so you know how special you are to me.”
I look up at him through my watery eyes. “This is incredible.”
“You’re incredible,” he says, then leans down and kisses me softly.
I turn my body and wrap my arms around his neck, deepening it. I’m so overwhelmed with how he makes me feel. He’s not shy with his actions or words, even after only two weeks together. No one has ever treated me like this. I don’t even think I deserve all of this.
I want to repay him for this, but I don’t even know what I can do. Then suddenly, I feel his dick harden against my stomach.I think there’s something I can do to show my appreciation. I break the kiss and get down on my knees.
His eyes follow me all the way down. “What are you doing, Freckles?”
I reach for his grey shorts and unbutton them while he watches, taking my time. Then I move onto his zipper, pulling it down slowly with a smirk.
“I’m saying thank you, Josh.”
I pull down his shorts and boxers until they hit the floor. His long, thick dick bounces up into my face. I wrap my hand around the base and stroke it up and down.
He watches me intently as I lift higher on my knees then wrap my lips around his tip, giving it a tight suck.
“Fuck, baby,” he whispers. “You don’t have to say thank you like this.”
I slide my mouth off him and look up through my lashes. “Are you telling me you don’t want my thank you?”
He smiles down at me and shakes his head. “I’d never reject your thank you. I dream about your thank you all the time. I’ve wanted it since I met you, but I just wanted you to know I didn’t do all of this for a thank you.”
