He starts to lather my hair with the shampoo, then slowly massages my scalp with his expert touch. It instantly draws a moan out of me.
He spends the rest of our shower spoiling me with more scalp massages and even massages my body.
I tried not to get aroused, but it was impossible.
So, he took me against the shower wall, where I came apart in his arms.
Now we’re dressed and walking downstairs. I hate that we both have to get back to work.
When we get to the front door, he turns around. His lips press against mine as they gently cover my mouth.
We take our time with each other. His lips tenderly move along mine.
“How about you come over for dinner tonight? I promise I won’t hurt myself and cook this time.”
I chuckle at the memory. “Sounds great.”
He gives me one last kiss. “See you tonight, babe.”
Chapter Twenty-One
Asher
“Brie, doyouwannabuild a sandcastle with me?” Charlotte asks after we take a break from the water.
“Yay!” Brie exclaims as she runs toward her sand tools. “Shovel!” she shouts, holding her big orange shovel.
I start to pick up the sand toys, but Charlotte stops me.
“I got this,” she tells me. “Why don’t you just relax.”
“Relax?” I ask.
“Yes, relax. It’s when you sit or lie down and do nothing.”
“I haven’t relaxed in three years.”
“Well,” she reaches for the toys. “It looks like today is your lucky day.”
Charlotte turns around. “You ready, girlie?”
The two walk next to each other until they are closer to the water, where Charlotte finds a spot for them to take a seat.
I wasn’t kidding when I told her I don’t relax. I haven’t had any time to myself for three years. Even if my parents are watching Brie for me to go out, it’s because somebody is dragging me out of the house, and that’s not exactly relaxing.
Lying down and doing nothing has become a foreign concept to me.
I reapply some more sunscreen, then move my towel out of the umbrella to the open sand. Relaxing in the warmth of the sun has always been soothing to me.
As soon as I lie back and close my eyes, my brain conjures up an image of Charlotte in her red bikini.
I’ve had to be on my best behavior today since Brie is with us. But it’s taken herculean effort to keep my hands off her.
It’s torture to be around a woman I’m completely crazy for while she prances around in a two-piece bathing suit.
Eventually, I’m able to focus on the feeling of the sun on my skin. My brain calms down, and my muscles even decompress.
It’s exactly what I needed. I only relaxed for fifteen minutes, not wanting to take advantage of Charlotte’s time, but it was fifteen minutes of peace and quiet.
