She wouldn’t leave without reason. But what? That was the question that picked at the back of my brain. Even more so when a text dinged, interrupting our conversation.

Louis: We need to talk.

What the fuck did Naomi do in Ashen Springs? It had to be something for Louis Kessler to be texting me. I may not know what she was up to, but I was sure as hell going to find out.

“I want you to grab a couple of guys to go meet Naomi and escort her back to the clubhouse,” I ordered Beast while shooting a text back to Louis.

Me: We have nothing to talk about.

Beast gave me his word that he’d get it done and left to go round up a crew. That’s when I got another text—this one made me snort.

Louis: We have a mutual problem.

I highly doubted that. Just because my family name had some distant ties to his little organization didn’t mean shit. I was curious, though.

Me: Oh yeah, and what’s that.

Louis: Your brother.

My fingers tightened around my phone. Yeah, okay. His son was shot during a drive-by, but that didn’t make Jax his problem.

Me: Jax isn’t your issue.

Louis: He is now. I’ll be there tomorrow.

Fucking great. I pocketed my phone and scrubbed a hand down my face. Now I’d have to deal with Louis Kessler and his bullshit. All because Naomi decided to take a trip home—I was going to beat her ass.

It took Tanner an hour to round up the rest of Pi Kappa Mu, during which I had Snake show up with a van. Something Tanner wasn’t too happy about—apparently, he found one with a naked chick painted on the side. His mood quickly changed when I ordered the girls to pack a bag.

He jumped up all giddy and clapped his hands. “Oh boy, slumber party.”

Why could I picture him putting on some ridiculous mask and starting a pillow fight?

“The guys are gonna love this.”

Snake shifted his gaze to one of the girls putting her bag in the back of the van. “Roach won’t.”

Too fucking bad for him.

“He’s not gonna like the guys being around her.” Snake tipped his head at the same girl who was now climbing in the van with the others.

“Better than her being dead,” I pointed out and looked at the two girls standing on the grass, eyeing us. “Are you fucking deaf? Get in.”

“We don’t have to go anywhere with you,” one said while the other crossed her arms.

I sighed and pulled out my gun. “Get the fuck in the van.”

After that, the only arguing they did was over who was getting in first. Once they were all loaded up, I slid the door shut and headed for my bike.

Tanner got on his ride and glanced back at the van headed down the road. “Did we just kidnap a sorority?”

Yes. Yes, we did.

“Are you okay?”

Bailey’s question caused my hands to tighten around the steering wheel. Was I okay? What I expected to find in Daddy’s office was evidence of money laundering, drug deals, or something along those lines.

That, I could’ve lived with—everyone did shady stuff. Hell, I was dating a motorcycle club president. I’m sure Chase had been in a few meth labs.
