I stare into his eyes, but he doesn’t blink, he knows what my witchy ass is doing.

I believe him.

“You might want to sit down, Miki.”

His brows furrow, panic appearing on his face.

“Nothing bad, big man. Just, umm, a shock?”

He runs his hands along my cheeks and presses his lips against mine.

“I’m sorry if you’ve ever felt anything less than the most important person in my life, baby. I will never let that happen again.”

I shake my head, almost feeling a bit silly for my reactive outburst.

He has never himself made me feel that way. He always shows how much he cares and loves me.

It’s her. Grating on me, picking at my insecurities with her digs, flirting around him.

And my little surprise doesn’t help. I am all over the place.

“Yeah, well, when I tell you the news, you might understand my outburst. Although, I appreciate your apology, Miki. I love you too.” I chew on the inside of my lip.

“Come with me.” I hold out my hand for him to take.

She’s cute when she’s nervous.

“What is it, baby?” I ask, placing my hands on my lap as she fidgets on her feet in front of me.

Then she fiddles with her wedding ring.

“So you know how you keep saying you want to put a baby in me?”

“Yes…”

I try to stop the smile erupting on my face.

My heart hammers in my chest out of excitement. I just need her to say the words out loud.

“Well, you have been successful in your efforts, big man.”

She pads over to the drawer and pulls out a white stick and places it in my hands.

I stare down at the two red lines.

Our baby. Our future. This changes everything, for the better.

“And here I thought I couldn’t love you any more than I already do. Come here.” I open up my arms and she throws herself into them.

She nuzzles her face into my neck and I pull her slender legs over my lap.
