Leon
The only time my kingdom has been this upbeat is when I came back with another territory under my belt, but this wedding is on a whole new level.
With the heiress of Ennis, Mina made sure I knew her name, came to my home to overlook the preparation herself, it got much busier. Staffs and coordinators move back and forth with everything to make the wedding up to Mina’s dream fairy tale standard.
Money is not a problem, Mina can have all the perfect details in her wedding. One word and I will change the entire venue if it’s not up to her specifications or if she has a change of mind.
The suit and dress measurements had been taken the day after I had her in my arms. I had instructed those who are making the clothing that Mina is to not wear anything revealing or their head will be hanging from their own needles.
I stand impatiently on the top of the step with the minister dressed neatly, I glance around the area. The Ennis family is there with the loudmouth heiress in her pink dress, the King of Ennis will be walking Mina down the aisle and it explains why he isn’t present at his wife’s side, also there are guards around us for safety precautions.
This is a grand wedding with more people that I would like, I was thinking of just having Mina and the minister as we speak our vows. I never saw it this way, but after Mina painted a picture of what our wedding would look like, she said it sounds lonely.
A big venue without a single soul, I don’t have the heart to take away her happiness with her new family after the incident with her real father. I know that not having her father walk her down the aisle still hurts her because knowing that she is an unwanted child breaks her heart.
I caught the fragments and held them until she is ready to piece them back together, I would have done it for her if she didn’t stand up by herself. My little girl is strong, she doesn’t need a scumbag like the man in my prison cell.
If he thought that hurting Mina and getting away with it because he is her father, then he is sadly mistaken. The Northern Kingdom won’t get their commander back until I am finished with him, and that could be a long time as I will purposefully forget his existence.
Mina thought she would be walking down the aisle by herself just yesterday, but the Ennis King said that he will be walking her down because as her father, he wants to hand his daughter to a man who will cherish her for the rest of her life.
He aimed that at me and I gladly accept him as Mina’s new father, I can see that he truly loves her from the bottom of his heart. Mina is his second daughter, even if they aren’t blood-related and she isn’t of royalty.
Mina has many people loving her unconditionally, and I am one of them who loves her for being my little girl. Things might have turned out different if I didn’t show up at the ball, it was the first time I had listened to the councils and it had brought me Mina.
They will get some leniency the next time they come up with some bullshit.
Music comes on, several types of instruments harmonically coming together in a beautiful soft melody. I forgot we had a band of music in the corner, this wedding is making me too impatient and out of focus as all I want to see is Mina.
The door opens and I turn to the noise, in walks the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen.
A lacy and intricated dress hugging her soft body, sinking into her plush shape as she slowly walks down the aisle with the King’s elbow holding her hand. Her small shoulders get covered by the sheer veil that contrasts with her black hair and the pair of eyes that I love immensely.
An indescribable shade of blue.
My suit is custom made, fitting my massive body in ways that normal suits can never. Every cut is made to define my body through the sleek black color that contrasts the whites of my button-up dress shirt. The tie is comfortable around my neck as the cuffs around the sleeves have no weight to them, even the shoes and pants are precise in their sewing.
Mina though, the more I look at her, the more beautiful she is.
“King Leon.”
I greet the older man, wrinkles etched around his face and wisdom shines through his eyes as he smiles at me, I have only met with this man two times to discuss matters of security. He is a reasonable man that uses logic and prefer to have peace rather than wealth if it means a war.
I didn’t see eye to eye with him.
I wanted war. I wanted the blood on my hand as I feel the pulse of my enemy’s rushing blood through my fingers. I thrived on hearing the anguish and devastations that I leave behind, no one is innocent in my eyes. They are willing to go to war with me, and I will not have mercy on those who do not put their heart into battle and expect anything other than defeat.
Mina changed me; yes, I still crave bloodlust, but Mina wouldn’t stomach the sight of death and I won’t go into any more battlefields if she asks me.
I will only go when she is in danger.
“Mina is precious,” the King said, “You must treasure her, love her and make her see that she is wanted.”
“I will,” I promise.
Ennis’ King nods, content with my confidence before letting Mina’s hand slide into my own as I take her up to the final level of the steps. I hold her hands tenderly, rubbing my thumbs over her knuckles as our eyes meet through the veil.
She smiles shyly at me, and my world fades away.
