Right. In the scenes.
It’s never been the scenes I’ve worried about. I can be someone else completely when the cameras are on, pretend he’s someone else, too.
“Thanks for what you did back there,” I say, dodging the subject, taking in all the depths of his eyes, light green with subtle flecks of gold. “How you handled that reporter when he asked about my dad. It meant a lot.”
A flush of pink spreads on his cheeks, a rare shy moment.
“They should know better by now,” he says quietly, studying me. I used to be able to read his thoughts, but right now, I can’t begin to guess what he’s thinking.
“This is surreal, isn’t it?” he finally says.
I breathe in the moment, survey the room. So many familiar faces weathered by time and age.
“Surreal’s the word,” I say. “Did you ever think it would all turn intothis?”
The first time I ever stepped foot onGirl’s set, it was the strangest feeling in the world to have cameras pointed at me and not my father. He’d rehearsed with me the night before, made sure I’d nailed my lines. After my first day of shooting, we went for milkshakes, extra cherries on top.
I really do wish he could see me now and all the show became.
Ransom’s quiet beside me. He’s always been the sentimental one of the group; whereas his soft side used to read as adorable boy next door, those tendencies now manifest much moodier, more mature. It suits him more than I’m ready to admit.
“We’re the lucky ones, Liv.” His gaze flickers to the starlit ceiling, then back to me. It’s so intense, so classic Ransom, my stomach does a flip. I’m not immune to how devastatingly attractive he is. I’m not immune to the twinkle, either, not even a little bit.
A beat passes, and I’m still feeling around for the right words—but then a dress as bright as our logo catches my eye, layers upon layers of flashy pink chiffon that somehow manage to be over-the-top and elegant at the same time. Ransom turns, looking over his shoulder.
Say what you want about Sasha-Kate, but the girl knows how to make an entrance.
“Guess the party can start now,” Ransom says with a wry grin.
Star-Studded Turnout to Fanline Dinner as Entire Cast ofGirl on the VergeDescends Upon West Hollywood
By Ithaca Alexander // Staff Writer, Arts & Entertainment,Sunset Central
The stars came out in full force under tonight’s unbelievable sunset—all eyes were on the red carpet outside the John and Carol Harris Center for the Arts as, one by one, the big names rolled in.
Sweetheart writing duo Dan and Xan Jennings were among the first to arrive, looking chic as ever in Armani and Oscar de la Renta, respectively. Always nice to see a couple stay together in Hollywood, especially when they’re responsible for one of the most iconic teen dramas of all time.
Showrunner-director Bryan Cortado, along with producing team Nathaniel Ezzo and Gabe Holcomb of Wild Mustang, arrived next, with a slew of Fanline execs close behind—of note, Fanline CEO Shine Jacobs stood out amid the veritable boys’ club in vintage silver Chanel.
Ford Brooks was the first of the main cast to make an appearance, arriving in a loud emerald Gucci ensemble only he could pull off, and notably alone. Longtime girlfriend Juliette Wells—a British actress known most recently for snagging multiple award nominations last season—is rumored to be shooting a new Jonathan Cast picture up in Iceland.
Liv Latimer looked every inch the starlet she is in an ink-black Christian Siriano dress and Louboutins to match. Looks like a girls’ night for Liv, whose assistant—Bre Livingston, sources confirm—joined in on the fun and looked stunning in vibrant green.
Ransom Joel took a solo trip down the red carpet, wearing all black Dolce & Gabbana and a five-o’clock shadow, looking undeniably classy and timeless. Another notable absence: amid engagement rumors, girlfriend Gemma Gardner was nowhere to be seen.
Finally, rounding out the cast’s most prominent quartet, Sasha-Kate Kilpatrick stole everyone’s hearts in bold pink Chanel, a frivolous dream of satin and chiffon daringly cut all the way down to her navel. Sasha-Kate never arrives without her #girlsquad these days, and tonight was no exception—resort heiress Garbiñe Itiriti, publicist Caroline Crenshaw, and singer-songwriter superstar Halo were also in attendance, in addition to SK’s beau-du-jour Nikola Miloševic.
Annagrey Siebert, Laurence Williams, and Millie Matson—mom, dad, and adorable kid sister of the fictional St. Croix family—were also in attendance, along with Aurora Cove’s hottest tennis coach, Pierre Alameda. (Two solid reasons to tune in to the reunion special when it airs, if you weren’t already convinced: little Millie Matson is all grown up now and looking fantastic, and said tennis coach hasn’t aged a day!)
What’s going to happen in the reunion special? Post your best guesses below in the comments! We’ll be live-tweeting the show when it airs, so spend these next weeks catching up on old episodes and be sure to follow @SunsetCentralBuzzzzz!

“Is it just me, or does Sasha-Kate have half of Hollywood with her?” Ransom murmurs.
I laugh. “How did she pullthatoff? The invite said plusone, not plus ten.”
“Hundred bucks says that guy will be at our table,” Ransom says, pointing at a lithe, long-haired man who somehow manages to make his tan, boxy, oversized suit look completely fashionable.
