“I can’t marry you, Fionn. I have to protect Fia. And I don’t know who you truly are, but you’re clearly dangerous, and I will never allow her to be around that.”
As I suck in a rough breath, my chest grows tight. “Oh, baby girl. You’re confused.” The back of my hand slinks down her pretty cheek. “Youwillbe my wife. There’s no choice in the matter.”
She inhales, air trapped in her lungs as I continue.
“I’m gonna stay the night, and tomorrow after Fia’s awake, we’ll drive to our new home.”
“What?” Panic fills the lines of her face. “No! I will not allow you to just take us! I—I have a job and bills! A life! I—I can’t. I won’t! Not with you.”
Those last words just make me furious, my temples beating. “No wife of mine will work as a housekeeper, and your bills, they’ll be paid for. You’ll never have to worry about bills again. Not when you have me.”
“Fionn, I can’t do this. Be reasonable.”
“You can and you will.”
“I told you I would never get you in trouble,” she pleads. “Isn’t that enough? My word means nothing to you?”
“I may believe you, but my family won’t, and I told you what would happen if you disobeyed me. Now, let’s go to bed. We have a wedding tomorrow.” I pull her hand in mine, but she yanks it away.
“Wait, whose wedding?”
A wry chuckle slips out of me. “Ours.”
She stares open-mouthed, a hand falling to her flailing chest.
I know I’m being selfish. But after what she did, I deserve to be as selfish as I damn well please.
“Don’t look so scared.” I kiss her jaw. “I promise to be a good husband and father.” My lips skim up to the corner of her mouth.
“Are you really going to do this to me? Are you really going to force me to be your wife?”
My wife. That has such a nice ring to it.
I blow out an exacerbated breath. “I’m saving your life. You should thank me.”
“Yeah, right.” She snorts.
“Try it.” A smirk settles on my face. “Come on, baby, try it. Thank you, Fionn, for saving my life.” My hips arch into her, still damn throbbing for this woman. “I’m sorry for being such a damn brat and running away from you.” I plant my hand around her throat, and she whimpers when I cinch my fingers tighter. “I promise to be a good girl and make it up to you.”
“Please, Fionn. I can’t…”
“Can’t what?” My fingers return between her thighs.
My girl missed me as much as I missed her.
“Can’t—oh God!” she moans as I rub her clit.
“Say it or I’ll torture you all night, and you know you’ll deserve it.”
“That’s unfair.”
“What’s unfair is that I had to live all these years without you.” Three fingers enter her, stretching her out for what’s gonna be one rough fuck.
We both need it.
“Do you know how hard it’s been imagining you with other people, forgetting me?”
“I never forgot you,” she breathes, shutting her eyes and shaking her head like she can’t believe she admitted that.
