He chuckles while I shut my eyes, curling a fist. I’msonot in the fucking mood.
“Where’s your girlfriend?” Tynan calls as I turn to face them. “You sure as hell rushed out of the wedding pretty quickly, and we never saw you again.”
“Leave him the bloody hell alone,” Devlin says in his heavy Irish drawl. “She still in your bed? Gonna get her some breakfast?” He smirks.
“That’s husband material right there.” Cillian has another laugh at my expense.
“Speaking of husbands…” Tynan starts to get up. “I gotta get my wife some coffee before she chews my head off for being slow.” He grins, like the thought is pleasing.
I don’t crack a smile, and they definitely notice from the narrowed expressions on their faces. Usually I’m the one who’s cracking jokes, but not this time.
I can’t believe she’s gone. I thought we had a connection, but she just fucking left like it meant nothing.
I need to find her.
“She’s gone.” My jaw clenches.
That gets even more of their attention.
Tynan’s brows crease. “Where?”
“How the hell do I know? She left while I was sleeping.”
I’m so damn pissed at myself for not waking up.
“I’m heading toward security to look at cameras to see what time she sneaked out. Maybe I can still catch her at the airport.”
Getting off the island isn’t that easy. She’d need to catch a ferry first.
“You did always sleep like a log.” Cillian snickers.
Devlin smacks him on the chest. “Read the room, man.”
He raises his hands in apology. “Is her phone turned off? Can we track it?”
“Don’t have her number.”
“Oh, come on,” Cillian scoffs. “Why the hell not?”
Definitely feel like an idiot. Don’t need him reminding me.
“Things happened fast. Didn’t have time.”
“Got it.” He smirks. “What’s her name?”
“Emily Daniels, and she lives in Boston. That’s all I know.”
“We can work with that.” Tynan slaps me on the shoulder. “Let me text Elara that I’ll be a bit late.”
“No, go. This is your wedding weekend. You don’t have to be stuck with my shit.”
But he’s already got his phone out, typing to his new wife.
He laughs. “Elara said you’re an idiot.”
Groaning, I run a hand through my hair. “Tell her I already know that.”
That’s what I get for growing attached to a girl I had no business sleeping with.
