“You have one more chance to tell me. Then the fun begins.”

I ease the fire closer to the back of his neck, letting him feel the heat that’s about to become his most intimate partner.

“I don’t know where the hell they are!”

I come face-to-face with him. “The captains know everything. They wouldn’t neglect to tell you. I know how much they all trust you. You’re their cousin, after all.”

He narrows a stare, probably surprised at how much I know. But we’ve learned everything there is to know about their major players.

“Do whatever you’ve gotta do. I won’t betray my family.”

“You’re right. Family is everything.”

And this time, when the flames shoot up, they leave a stench of burning flesh. The skin of his upper arm, right at the bicep, ignites as he screams.

I grab his throat, my fingers tightening as I stare at his face, no longer smug.

He struggles to breathe and cry at the same time.

“I’m this close to burning off your dick,” I continue. “So now’s your time to choose. Your cock or your family?”

He wails, his exhales ragged with every inhale.

“For me,” I say. “It’d definitely be my dick. I mean, I love my brothers, but a man only has one dick. Don’t make me take yours.”

“That’s cold,” Dante cuts in. “You’d do us dirty?”

Enzo snickers. “No way would I let someone make a shish kebab out of my wiener. I’m with Dom.”

“Listen to my brother,” I tell Vincenzo. “He’s not always right, but this time, I’d take his advice.”

Vincenzo grits his teeth, the whimpers fading.

I can’t wait to kill him.

I flip the switch on again, roasting his upper thigh, closer to the place he really doesn’t want me to hurt him.

The room cuts in with another one of his screams.

“Not spitting at me now, are you, motherfucker?” The torch blazes to life. “Last chance. Then I’m taking your balls.”

He sobs, his crying drowning out the room.

I light up the torch once again.

“Wait!” he begs with a pant, putting out his hand. “I’ll tell you, okay? Just stop.”

“Keep talking.” The fire nears his other thigh.

“I got a ca…ca...cabin upstate. Secluded. No neighbor for miles.”

No doubt they’re planning how to get us before we get them.

“I hope you’re telling the truth.”

“I am, I swear.”

He gives up the address and Enzo texts it to one of our men so he can start surveillance.
