I slid out of her, took care of the condom, cleaned us both up, and then held Paige close as our hearts finally slowed down.
“I need to pick up Emery,” she said after a moment, and I nodded.
“I’ll drive you.”
“I hope so, since you have the car.”
I laughed, squeezing her hip.
“Will you stay the night?” she whispered. I froze marginally before I let out a relieved breath.
“I thought you’d never fucking ask.”
“Good. Because I want to wake up with you, Lee. I want you there in the morning while we figure out what we need to do, and you can help with those late-night feedings.”
“Sounds like a plan. I’m actually quite excited to see Emery at night.”
“And not to cuddle with me?”
“Well, we know my priorities.”
She laughed, and then I kissed her again. We got dressed and headed towards her daughter. The little girl that had control of my heart. The one I knew I would always have in my life.
Now I just had to convince her mom of that notion.
And, frankly, a little bit of myself, too.

“I’m not sure we have enough food,” Austin Montgomery said from the kitchen, his hands on his hips. His son, Leif, stood by him and snorted.
I walked up next to them, looking at the spread before them as I shrugged. “I suppose we can always order more wings.”
“Do we need more wings?” Jacob asked as he walked into the kitchen with us, his phone in his hand. “I can do it.”
“I hope that y’all are kidding,” Archer said, rubbing his stomach. “I’m not supposed to gain weight right after the wedding. What is it, the honeymoon fifteen?” he asked with a wink, and I rolled my eyes.
“You work out more than I do. I think you’re fine. Plus, if you did gain weight after the wedding, that just means you’re hanging out with your husband more. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Archer grinned at me, and Beckett walked into the room, Benjamin behind him. “I think you hanging out with Paige as much as you do is really helping your sensitive side.”
“I’m going to have to hurt you, aren’t I?” I grumbled.
“Don’t do it,” Benjamin warned as he slid out of the way.
Eli, Eliza’s older brother, walked in behind him and stared at us. “Is there a reason we’re all hanging out in the kitchen, looking at the food and not eating?” the large man asked. Eli was built like a tank and could probably break me with his pinky just like Andrea’s husband could. I knew Eli had just gotten out of the military and probably didn’t need to keep in as good of shape as he was, but that didn’t seem to stop the man. If anything, he looked fitter than he had before. Hell, maybe I needed to go to the gym more often.
Archer caught my look, and I groaned. “What?”
“You’re thinking about going to the gym because we have new flesh in our group. And you’re no longer the prettiest one here.”
Leif snickered. “You thought you were the pretty one?” the kid asked, and though he was nineteen now and not quite a kid anymore, he was still the next generation.
“You should be nice to your elders, son,” I growled.
“Don’t call me an elder,” Austin stated as he put his arm around his son’s shoulders. “I’m having a hard enough time with the fact that he’s going off to college soon.”
