As soon as we landed, we were surprised to find the resort staff already there to receive us.
We expected them to send cars with the drivers to pick us up. Instead, we got a super sweet surprise.
Three to four females welcomed us with garlands made up of colorful flowers. They are called Leis.
Mine was a fresh orchid lei. The bright rich purple flowers weaved with white.
Raleigh’s Lei was yellow and white. And Archer’s was red.
The entire ride to the resort was spent in silence.
Raleigh and I were silent but others were happily chattering and clicking pictures of the amazing view as we passed by the strip of hotels and golf courses in the area.
It was my first time in Hawaii. But I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy the scenery.
My stomach was in knots. Thousands of thoughts were attacking me all at once. All negative.
It got worse when we reached the resort. The scent of the tropical blooms eased my tension a little, though.
A few more steps and I read the name of the resort.
Euphoria.
A smile lifts my lips as I remember why he named his resort Euphoria.
Because this is the place where he saw the love of his life for the very first time. It’s both sad and romantic at the same time.
I take in the oceanfront resort and the lush acres, the sound of the beach already tempting me to give up everything and take off. But I have a responsibility.
As team leaders, Raleigh and I have to make sure everyone gets settled in their suites.
The check-in area of the resort is simple and earthy.
The resort is empty except for the working staff. That was expected.
We divide into two groups and take over the task while Archer simply approaches the desk. He chats for a minute or so before he saunters off in the direction of the towers where the rooms are located.
One by one, I hand out the keys and maps to everyone. And finally, approach the desk for mine.
“Hannah,” Raleigh calls out and I turn to face him.
“I’ve got the keys. Let’s go.” He nudges his chin in the direction where Archer disappeared, motioning for me to follow him.
Our luggage and bags are already being carried by the bellhop.
My heels click across the marble floor as we navigate through the luxury place.
There are three towers. The main tower has a beautiful atrium.
Raleigh unlocks the suite. I walk inside and drop my handbag on the couch before heading straight to the balcony.
Stepping out, my eyes sought the clear sky.
The greenery of the trees and sandy beach is creating a beautiful picture. Mother nature has the best box of crayons.
This is the wettest month to visit Maui.
