He despises me. So much so that he wants me gone from this agency. So now that he has so generouslyhelpedme, I am expecting him to take his touch away from my body and step back.
Why isn’t he doing either of those things?
And on top of that, why am I still fisting his T-shirt?
I am the one to regain my senses and push him away.
This time, he slackens his grip and I take a few steps back.
He slips his hand in his pocket and examines me. “Meeting’s about to start.” With that, he saunters off.
Chapter Six
Inever realized how perfectly designed this meeting room was before.
But well, you tend to notice everything, even the minute detail of a room if it serves as a purpose to avoid someone’s presence.
Archer is yet to arrive and I am all alone in a room with my nemesis.
I don’t even want to think about what happened a few minutes ago.
My body is still humming an unknown tune and it’s only making me avoid Raleigh harder.
The room is white with multicolor chairs and lounges. The ceiling is black with yellow patterns and white borders.
All in all, this room is vibrant.
There’s a round table in the center of the room but I can’t look in that direction. Because Raleigh is perched on one of the seats.
I might have to sit there too but I’d rather wait for Archer to arrive first.
Because that encounter with Raleigh made things kind of awkward with him.
My body’s reaction is making my mind foggy. Like how’s that even possible? I hate him. How can his nearness unfurl heat through my limbs?
Raleigh is bad news and one would be out of their mind to fall for his charms.
I turn when the door opens.
Archer enters the room.
In a white crisp shirt, black pants, and skinny black satin tie, Archer Kim looks like a hero who just stepped out of a Korean drama and entered our office building.
I scurry to the table and take a seat opposite Raleigh, purposely leaving a seat empty between us for Archer.
Archer is Korean American. He is blessed with flawless pale skin, silky raven hair, and dark eyes.
Did I mention he is freakishly tall with an athletic body?
“I’ll have to call you back.” His calm and sonorous voice booms in the quiet space as he walks to the center table and takes a seat.
He nods at us in greeting and raises a finger, indicating he’ll be done in a minute.
“I fired her because she lied to me about being stuck in the traffic, Janet.” His brows snap together. His tone has a hint of an accusation.
We call him Mr. Honest for a reason. Archer is the most fun and the kindest boss ever.
He believes in creating a pleasant environment for his employees that makes everyone feel comfortable.
