Page 107 of My Ruthless Opponent

My concept for the Date Round was divided into two parts. Suite and Spa.

It started with the photoshoot in the suite and later continued in the spa. A perfect date for a couple, spending time in a spa and relaxing.

It was supposed to go smoothly. Only it didn’t.

Hannah and I ended up arguing which led her to ignore me.

She is good at that, the ice queen.

I glimpsed at her from time to time in the hopes of figuring out the reason behind her sudden aloofness.

When all of my patience leaked out of me, I dragged her to the vacant room and confronted her.

Though she was spitting fire, I couldn’t miss how her dark gunmetal eyes followed every move of my body.

If she was mad at me, why the fuck did she keep staring at me?

Her actions and words were fucking with my mind. I couldn’t let it continue. So I acted on impulse. Just like this morning when she was moaning my name in her sleep and then we ended up coming together.

I wanted us to focus on work and thought we could always talk at night when we are alone again.

Every time she was close to me, the impulse to throw her over my shoulder and take her upstairs to our suite drove me fucking crazy.

To avoid sporting a fucking hardon around my team, I chose to ignore her. But Hannah misunderstood my silence.

The sight of her tempting fucking body wrapped in the robe and her fiery gray gaze snapped my self-control.

I couldn’t understand my reaction to her. Yes, she is smoking hot but so were the women I hooked up with. What was so special about her?

When I kissed her, I was waiting for her to slap me. I waited for her to deny this attraction, this lust between us. She didn’t. She welcomed my hunger and met it with her own.

When we were interrupted, I thought she might retreat to her old self and things would get awkward between us.

I was fucking pleased that nothing like that happened. Instead, we walked out of the room and slayed the photoshoot.

This time with real chemistry and zero hesitation for intimacy. The shoot then moved to the Spa area where we got a massage. We talked and smiled like we were on a date, and the photographer did his job, capturing the moments.

After my shoot, we got ready for hers.

I liked her setup. She had a hammock in the garden facing the pool, an inflatable lounge bed in the swimming pool.

There are three pools in the resort. Once we finish here, we’ll move to the infinity pool.

I was lounging on one of the lounge chairs, now dressed in the outfit Hannah’s team gave me which is simple green swim shorts and a white shirt. They told me not to button the shirt, though.

Hannah disappeared to change in her designated outfit.

After my hair and makeup were done, I was finally left alone. That’s when I decided to facetime Summer.

I expected her to throw a fit but she was demanding the truth.

I was planning not to disclose this, but now that she knows, there’s no point in denying that her hunch is right. I can trust Summer.

I sigh and rise to my feet. Walking away to a secluded spot, I hold the phone closer to my face. “Yes, you’ve guessed it right. Our engagement is fake.”

“Duh. It’s old news. Tell me why are you doing this?” Summer leans forward and plants her elbows on the dresser.

I scan the area before telling her a brief version of what happened up until now, omitting the part where I paused the photoshoot to make out with Hannah.
