His eyes are still hot with need and hunger. The intensity of his gaze tells me whatever this is that we have between us is mutual. He feels the same passion. The same desire I have for him.
“No, I guess.”
“You still doubt it?” Raleigh leans down, kisses my jaw, nips gently on my chin before pressing a kiss on my lips. “What should I do to make you believe me?”
“Be nice to me for starters.”
“Blasphemy. We are opponents, princess. I want you but that doesn’t change anything between us.”
Oh, so it’s like that. “You’re so charming.” I roll my eyes.
“I’m honest. If we do this,” He motions between us with a hand. He is comfortably settled between my legs as he stares down at me. “We need to be on the same page. I can only give you this.” He grinds his length into me. And my eyes almost fall shut.
Raleigh is direct. And I like it. Raleigh wants me. But he has made it crystal clear that he wants me for sex. Nothing more.
It’s up to me now whether I want to indulge in this or not. If I choose to have an affair with my fake fiancé, our change in dynamics wouldn’t affect him. But it could affect me.
My eyes were filled with tears of frustration and hurt earlier. That’s a red flag I shouldn’t ignore.
Alien emotions swarm me. A knot forms in my throat at the same time my stomach tightens in anticipation.
I liked seeing him losing control. It means I am not in this alone.
I am sure we would’ve gone further than the kiss if it weren’t for the knock on the door.
Can I sleep with him without forming attachments? It wasn’t difficult for me before.
But Raleigh is different. I don’t know why. He just is. If he keeps being his obnoxious, rude self, I can do it.
Raking my fingers through his hair, I fist it and pull him down, closer to my lips. “Good. Because I’m only interested in that. The rest of you doesn’t intrigue me in the least so weareon the same page.” I smirk.
His eyes dart down to my mouth and a dark smile touches his lips.
We share one last hot kiss before we leave the room.
We resume our photoshoot, our body language relaxed but our situation more complicated than ever.
Chapter Twenty
Summer smiles at me, her eerie unblinking gaze making me sweat.
I decided to facetime her and now I am cursing myself. I should’ve just called instead of face-timing her. She can read me like a book.
“How have you been?” I ask.
She cocks her eyebrow. “Good. Splendid as you can see.” She motions to herself.
She has propped her phone on her dressing table, so I can see her outfit. She is wearing a blue blazer over a multi-colored t-shirt and red pants.
“Are you going out?”
“I had a job interview.” She murmurs.
Damn. Did she wear that to a job interview?
“What’s wrong with my outfit?” She glares at me with her blue and green eyes.
“I didn’t intend to say that out loud.” I clamp my mouth shut.
