"And you're cruel,” Cedric frowned, but I didn't miss the way his lips twitched at the corners as he fought off a smile. "How else did you expect me to feel after I learnt that my girlfriend wanted to see other men?" He grumbled, a petulant pout on his face as he tightened his arms around me, pulling me closer to him. “Especially after I spent half the night fucking your brains out.”
Something tingled inside me and I pressed my lips to his in a quick kiss.
“I wasn’t your girlfriend a few minutes ago.” I countered, snickering when his lips turned down once again, pouting. Unable to bear the adorable sight of it any longer, I pressed a sweet kiss to his lips.
Before we could get carried away, I leaned down to press my cheek on his chest, over his heart.
Under my ear, his heart thumped erratically, even missing a few beats at the beginning. I couldn't help but smile at the sound, finding it oddly comforting as it beat under my ear, and I couldn't help but think that at this moment, it was beating for me and me only.
If someone told me even a week ago that I would be in bed on a Sunday morning, snuggled up in Cedric's arms after a night of magical, toe-curling, passionate sex, I would have insisted that they were lying. And then I would have insisted that they seek professional help because they were clearly crazy.
But now it appeared that I was the crazy one.
Crazy for Cedric Barlowe.
"Saff? Are you still with me?" Cedric asked, his gaze turning questioning.
"Yes, sorry.” I nodded, and my face heated up as I snapped out of my thoughts. "Now, back to our parents. What are we going to tell them?"
"What about if we tell them nothing?" Cedric said with a sneaky look on his face.
“What are you suggesting?” I quirked a quizzical brow, already catching his drift.
"I'm not saying that it'll be forever, or even very long for that matter, especially with how nosy they all are, but I think it would be good. At least during the beginning."
“You think we’d actually be able to keep this, us–” I pointed between the both of us, “–a secret from our parents?”
Cedric shrugged, "We can try. I just want us to have a fair chance without all the pressure, darling.”
“I want that as well,” I sighed. “I know that I can be very hot-headed at times, and we argue a lot, but I really feel like there could be something special between us.” What I didn’t tell him was that I could already feel that there was something extraordinary growing between us. Something so powerful and beautiful that I craved to nurture it and turn it into something so much more. “I hate to say it, but I feel like if we tell our parents about us right now when things are so new and fresh–”fragile, “–we’ll only be sabotaging ourselves.”
"It would also save us the embarrassment of them planning our wedding, kids and then retirement before we even go on our second date." Cedric nodded in agreement. “Speaking of a second date, I hope you’re free next Saturday because I have plans for the both of us,” he grinned down at me, squeezing my hip.
“Already?” I narrowed my eyes at him. “That’s pretty presumptuous of you to make plans for us both without even asking me to be your girlfriend?”
“Any other insults you want to hurl my way before we get out of bed?” He mock frowned but couldn’t resist pressing his lips to mine.
"I'll save them for throughout the day," I smiled against his mouth. "That way, it'll keep you on your toes, and the burn won’t be too much for you to handle at once.”
“Are we always going to be like this?” He murmured in a low, husky voice, kissing me so slowly and tantalisingly that my toes curled and my arms ached to drag him impossibly closer.
I didn't know exactly what Cedric was referring to. Whether it was the way we argued or how I insulted him every chance I got and vice versa, or even if it was simply the way we were when we were together, I wasn’t sure, but I wished we would always stay like this.
But first, if we wanted to give this, whatever this was going on between us, a fair chance, then it would be best if we kept this to ourselves. At least for now.
"I hope so," I whispered against his lips. “I really hope so.”

Perhaps it was a little much, but we had the whole evening planned. The first part of the plan was to arrive at Moe’s Tavern separately even though we had left the tube station together, walking hand in hand to the restaurant.
"Remember to wait the full five minutes, okay?" I leaned up to press a soft kiss to his lips, purposely pulling away before we got carried away. “Don’t come in a single moment before.”
Cedric groaned, and when he leaned down to steal another kiss, I giggled and turned around, rushing toward the restaurant before he ruined our plan before it even started.
“I’m going to get you for that later!” He called out after me, and I could hear the grin on his face.
“Looking forward to it.” I blew him a kiss over my shoulder before disappearing into the restaurant.
