The thought of getting the compass off Lex and watching him teleport away made his heart splinter. He wrapped his arm around him and held tight.

Damn it, Lex. I was ready to die. I was ready to let go, and now here you are to make me a fool.He placed a kiss on top of his head and wished time would stop here forever. How do I earn back your heart when I know I don’t deserve it?

Chapter Six

Lex

Lex lay unmoving onSilas's chest as his mind descended into a spiral. Not only had his plan to stay platonic crumbled in seconds, thanks to the euphoric haze that only feeding on Silas caused, but he heard the last words he expected.

He misses me?

Lex didn’t know if Silas meant it or if he was just riding the high of vampire venom in his system. Worse, he didn’t know which he wanted to be true. The spot on his forehead where lips grazed burned. Part of him wanted to look up and kiss him back, and another wanted to run away.

“Are you awake?”

Silas's voice was gentle and that rumble in his chest as he spoke was like a lullaby. Lex almost ignored him just to feel the vibrations on his cheek again. Instead, he carefully pushed himself off Silas and looked down at the mess he’d made of the both of them. His cum coated the tattoos on Silas’s lower end.

“I don’t—I don’t know what happened.” He started to crawl away, but Silas held him firmly in place by his hips.

“Stay.”

Despite his mortification, Lex sat still and let Silas cup his cheek. A pulse of lust ran through him as Silas traced his bloody lips, and he cursed himself. Why do I always listen to him when he’s around?

“Your fangs haven’t gone all the way down yet.” He gave it a light tap that made Lex jump. “Do you need to bite me again?”

He may as well have grabbed my cock and asked if I orgasmed enough. “I’m, um, I’m satisfied.” His face grew hotter by the second. “I really think I should get up now.”

“You need to rest up a bit before we go to let the blood take effect. I can hold you until you’re ready to get up.”

“No, thank you.” He knew what Silas was doing, but he wasn’t ready to be comforted by him after they fooled around. Somehow cuddling was more vulnerable and intimate than dry humping each other.

Hurt flashed on Silas's face but he didn’t argue as Lex crawled away. Instead, he got out of the bed and lazily wiped the blood off his neck. Dark red blood coated his fingers. The two puncture wounds were already closed thanks to his healing abilities. It was as if Lex hadn’t bitten him at all.

Lex held his knees and got lost as he took in Silas's body at the bedside. Moonlight filtered in through sheer curtains and cast shadows over his tan skin. He had pictured his body a thousand times over the years, but his memories couldn’t compare to the real thing. Every muscle looked as if it were painstakingly sculpted by an artist’s loving hands. The tattoos painted on his body made Silas living art. Like all paintings, literature, and sculptures, Lex had a hard time not falling into the beauty of him.

“After we wash up, we should get dressed and join the others,” Silas said, shaking Lex from his ogling.
