Kayleigh blinks up at me with confusion. “What’s turning you on?”
“The fact you’re taking this so fucking well,” I grunt as I graze my thumb across her jaw. “Knowing that you’re accepting all of me.”
She shrugs once as if it’s simple. “Because I like being with you.”
I lean forward and press a delicate kiss to her lips as she squeals and looks down between us. “Kayden,” she gasps. “You’re naked and hard.”
“Yeah, I know.” I chuckle. “I told you this was turning me on.”
Kayleigh playfully pushes my shoulder as I reach for my clothes, and she watches me. “So, what do you do in your wolf forms?”
“We train together,” I say as I throw on my T-shirt. “As a pack, to build strength and for teamwork.”
“Can I see?”
I blink once. “See us train?”
“Yeah, I’m intrigued.”
“Definitely.” I nod with enthusiasm.
Kayleigh being involved in my world is everything I could want and more.
“Do you wish I was a wolf?”
“No,” I say instantly. “I want you to be exactly who you are.”
I shove my legs into my trousers and secure them around my waist before taking her face in my hands again and forcing her eyes to mine. “Blondie, all you are is all I’ll ever need.”
Kayleigh’s eyes glisten in the sunlight as they flick between mine slowly. “Why do you always know the right thing to say?” she rasps. “I think your charm is getting a little too good.”
“Because I know I’m with the right person.”

KAYLEIGH
The crystal water of Stonebridge Lake just about touches my toes, and even though it’s beyond freezing, the sensation makes me smile. Kayden stands beside me. We both look across the water and admire the breathtaking view.
It’s late into the afternoon, the sun almost setting behind the scattered trees.
There isn’t a single soul in sight.
Peaceful isn’t even the word.
Undisturbed tranquil.
The wind blows against my white shift dress, fluttering around my knees. Kayden’s hand slips into mine, and he pushes me towards the water slightly. My hand tightens around his, and my face falls at the same rate my body does. A small shriek leaves my lips.
Kayden quickly retracts me back and pulls me flush against his chest. I grip onto him for dear life, and he chuckles gently. I push him away with a scowl, but he tugs me back, grinning playfully.
“Not funny,” I catch my breath.
“Like I’d let you fall in, blondie,” he drawls. “I’ve always got you.”
His warm hand grips my hips, and before I can pull away, his mischievous eyes flick across my face as he hauls me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
“Kayden!”
