She stared in his eyes, taking in all of him, all the way to his soul. “I love you, Haydn Forrester.” But this time, her mic was on, and it was broadcast to the entire arena. She gave him an impish smile that made his stomach do a somersault, and he angled his head to capture her lips in his again. She tasted like cinnamon and the future.
And he couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
Chapter 27
Oneweeklater:
Lia:The world has lost its mind.
Haydn:Are you referring to Haydelia? Because my good friend at Aurelia-Halifax-Number-One-Fan coined that term.
Haydn:Or was it AureliaIsDaBomb?
Lia:How many fan sites did you comment at?
Haydn:I honestly thought I could reach you that way.
Lia:Well, in a roundabout way, you did.
Haydn:Jules is taking all the credit for this, by the way. It’s driving Rosie nuts.
Lia:Poor Rosie. Tell her she gets ultimate credit for booking me your cabin.
Haydn:People are loving your new songs. From what I’ve seen all the way up here in Alaska. Where I’m definitely not stalking you via Google alerts.
Lia:I’m ded. You didn’t.
Haydn:No, but Bennett did for about a day. He set up alerts, went fishing with some clients for eight hours without his cell phone, and when he got back, he had so many alerts he debated deleting his account and starting over.
Lia:Why would he follow me???
Haydn:That’s Bennett. He has your back. He’s showing support by knowing what’s going on in your life.
Haydn:We can’t all be so privileged as to have your phone number. Like some people. Like me. I mean me.
Lia:Ha ha. You can give him my number. He can check in any time. Jules too. I trust you guys.
Haydn:And me?
Lia:You can check in ALL the time.
Haydn:Good, because I plan to.
Lia:Thanks for crashing my concert.
Haydn:Anytime.
Haydn:Just kidding. I hope I’m never on stage again.
Lia:It wasn’t so bad, was it?
Haydn:No, but only because I was with you.
Two weeks later:
Lia:My dad is your biggest fan. He likes you more than me.
Haydn:Doubtful.
