Gerdest snapped her the things she needed. He studied her and seemed fascinated. He turned, “Right. The wolves can you get them in here, Duchess?” Emmaline answered clearly confused, “Well... sure…” She took out her phone and texted them.

I repeated, “Why?” Gunner complimented, “Good question.” Ted was pacing so I grabbed his hands and we shared a look. The people we loved were in danger, and we weren’t there. Ted finally smirked, “Now you understand how it feels on this end.” I grumbled, “I’m not a fan.” Ted retorted, “Join the club.”

Sam and Chelsea walked into the room. They asked, “What’s going on? Oh my GOD! Who’s behind that curtain?” Lacy groaned, “Me! And whatever battle is going on Dylan needs to wrap it up because if he misses the birth of our pup, I’ll kick his ass!”

Chelsea assured her, “I’m sure he’ll be back. I’ll call Peter.” She got on her phone, but Peter didn’t answer his phone. She frowned until Sharon popped to our group. She said, “If you called Peter, he’s fighting. Your father-in-law called me. He wanted me to bring them into the fight not that they needed to be.”

I huffed, “Not to be a broken record here but why?” Sharon answered, “Ummm well Haley is…. mad….” Gerdest laughed, “That is a vast understatement, Duchess Sharon.” I rubbed my temples, “Wait, why did you want Sam and Chelsea in here?”

Gerdest smiled and finally answered, “The Princess promised to take them home. I want to see her when she comes back. You all should.” I blew out a breath, “I swear to God I am going to lose my mind. Why?”

Gerdest smiled broadly, “It would ruin the fun if I told you. History, my dear children, is being made. I have not seen what is about to happen for centuries. It will be amazing if King Aiden pops back with her.” I tried a new tactic, “What is Haley doing?”

Gerdest smiled, “Unlocking a level of herself I am certain she did not know existed. The kind that could only happen from the love of her life almost dying.” My jaw dropped as I said, “That’s horrible.” Gerdest shrugged saying, “He lives. All is well.” Ted said, “Fairies are interesting.” Gunner snorted.

A portal opened and Harper ran through, covered in blood. Ted sobered up. I whispered, “Harper? Is…?” Harper answered, “It’s all bad guy’s blood. Gunner, I need you to track Eric by his phone.”

Gunner looked openly worried and I realized seeing Harper that way was concerning to him since he loved him. Gunner asked, “Isn’t he with you?” I agreed, “He was definitely with you.” Gerdest laughed, “The children took him away from the fight, didn’t they?”

Harper glanced over asking, “Who are you?” He shook himself, “Never mind I have no damn time for this. Haley is destroying shit. We NEED him, Gunner. Like thirty minutes ago.” I asked, “Did the triplets take him away?” Harper stared at Gunner.

Gunner pulled out his tablet. I quickly turned to Emmaline asking, “Can you snap Harper clean please? It’s upsetting Gunner.” Gunner looked at me gratefully while Harper turned to me. He finally answered, “Yes, Haley told them to take him somewhere safe where he couldn’t get back to where we were. Which is GOD awful because we can’t calm her down. She’s got your ex by the way. He’s looking worse for wear.”

I snorted, “Let her have at him.” Harper said, “It’s everyone else that’s the problem. The man that shot Eric isn’t dead but wishes he was. We just need her to calm down.” I scoffed, “Why? What’s the problem?”

Harper sighed, “Remember what happened after the mission where you got hurt?” I nodded, “Bjourn had to fight her to calm her down.” Harper explained, “Well, we can’t even reach her to fight her to calm her down.” I asked, “How is that possible?”

Harper asked, “Gunner?” So, was this no one answering my questions a permanent deal? Because I did not care for it. Gunner announced, “He’s here.” Harper yelled, “Of FUCKING course he is! Why didn’t I know that?!” Gunner added, “On Haley’s Island.”

Harper opened a portal and stepped through. He came with Eric and the triplets. Harper was trying to reason with them, “I know what your mother said to you in Fealish, but no one can hurt your daddy now. Your mommy NEEDS your Daddy. WE need your daddy if Lexi wants to have a home to return to.”

I raised my hand, “Say what now?” Gerdest said, “The earth is responding to the Princesses' anger then.” Harper snarked, “Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening, strange old fairy man.” Gerdest grinned, “How marvelous. The siblings can fix the area she destroys, should they be so inclined.” They would.

Eric ordered, “Take us back there Harper.” I took in Eric’s appearance. His shirt had a hole in it, and it was covered in blood. I advised, “You’re going to want a new shirt first. I don’t think seeing a reminder you were shot is going to help you here.” Eric looked down and cringed. He probably hated that his kids saw that.

He sighed admitting, “Good call. You three we are going to have a chat later. When daddy tells you to take him to mommy, you take me to her.” Both boys had a stubborn set to their faces. Cassie’s eyes welled with tears.

Eric immediately picked her up and cradled her to him. He cooed, “Daddy loves you, Princess. All three of you little stinkers. You just need to listen to daddy.” Cassie smiled up at him and he kissed her head. Emmaline snapped her fingers and Eric had a new shirt on.

Eric said, “Thank you Emmaline.” Lacy shouted, “ERIC, GET DYLAN BACK HERE!” Eric startled, “Are you in labor?” Lacy growled, “YES AND HIS ASS NEEDS TO BE HERE!” Eric muttered, “If I don’t kill him for his obstacle course of doom, I’ll get him back here.”

Lacy hissed, “YOU CAN KILL HIM AFTER I PUSH HIS PUP OUT! GOD! WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA? A man, that’s who. Something this large shouldn’t come out a small hole. That’s a man’s idea right there! SOMEONE GET DYLAN!”

Harper opened a portal. I had no idea what they were stepping into because all I saw was a swirling vortex. Gunner looked taken aback. I said, “They are fine. I feel Chase in my chest and you just saw Harper.” Gunner said, “She’s never been so mad it took anyone but the family to calm her down.” I said, “To be fair, Haley hasn’t known Eric that long.”

Gunner pointed out, “She’s never been so mad Bjourn, or Marcus couldn’t calm her down with a fight.” He was right. Ted waved to get our attention, “Is no one going to ask what he meant by the statement they can’t reach her? What does that mean?”

I said, “You saw that vortex. What if she’s in the middle of it?” Ted agreed, “That would do it.” Emmaline sighed, “I want to pop to her so badly, but I promised Lucas I’d stay out of the fray until the quads are born.”

I agreed, “I’m right there with you, except I can’t pop.” Emmaline smiled, “If I popped someone there and left that could work.” I laughed, “I like it.” Gunner disagreed, “Fuck no. I don’t like it AT ALL. No one is going anywhere. Why do I just FEEL this ends with someone asking me to track Haley as she goes on a killing spree?”

I rolled my eyes, “You’re being dramatic. Eric is there now, and she’ll calm down.” Gunner grumbled, “Supposing he can reach her and all.” I looked at Gerdest, “Can Aiden reach her?” Gerdest answered, “King Aiden can always reach his sister.” I said, “There you go.”

Gunner questioned, “Why isn’t he stopping her then?” Gerdest said, “I didn’t say he could stop her. I said he could reach her.” I frowned, “Aiden can’t stop her?” Gerdest said, “If he wanted to hurt her, yes. He will not do that though.” I agreed, “No, he won’t.”

Ted said, “Now comes the part I excel at.” I asked, “What?” Ted answered, “Waiting.” Lacy yelled, “EMMALINE, GET OVER HERE!” Emmaline popped to her. Lacy ordered, “YOU GET ME DYLAN RIGHT DAMN NOW!” Emmaline agreed, “Coming right up.”

Emmaline popped away and popped back with Dylan. Dylan called out, “I’m here!” Lacy yelled, “IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME!” Emmaline popped back to us. Her eyes were as wide as saucers.
