Matt said, “They are hospital pillows of course they suck.” Ted declared, “Well, no more! TeleTed is on the case. This will never happen again. Everyone who comes here gets a better pillow.” I smiled, “Why don’t you start shopping and find the pillows you want the hospital to have.”

Matt cut in, “Chase will have to approve them.” I questioned, “Can’t I do that?” Matt thought about it then nodded, “Actually yes, you can.” I nodded then said, “Then pick whatever pillow you want, Ted. I am apparently loaded. My parents left me money.”

Matt snorted, “Chase is loaded. He can afford the pillows.” I said, “There you have it. Order the pillows.” Ted got on his phone. I saw people dancing in the hallway. I linked Matt, “Was he that bad?” Matt linked me, “I gave up on getting him to have some chill like an hour ago.”

I bit my lip replying, “You could’ve called Haley. She would have granted him the peace of the earth.” Matt threw his hands up in the air. He linked me, “Where were you with that genius idea at eight am this morning?” I answered, “Having sex with Chase.” Matt stared at me in shock then laughed.

Ted looked up asking, “What’s funny?” I joked, “That I have sex with Chase, apparently.” Ted said, “Uhhh Matt, she’s pregnant they obviously have sex.” Matt said, “It was... there was a whole thing…. never mind.” I laughed along with Ted.

The nurse came and got Joanie for the procedure. Her mom showed up and went back with her. It didn’t take too long before Ted started to pace. I reminded him, “Haley’s going to do her thing.” Ted said, “I know…. I know…. it’s just... odd. My kid is in there getting all situated into his or her mom. I just want to do everything I can for Joanie.”

Matt was smiling broadly. I commented, “I’m surprised Isabella isn’t here.” Matt said, “She’s waiting back at Joanie’s house.” I nodded, “Gotcha.” A nurse came in and told us that Joanie was on her way back to the room.

I called Haley and she answered, “Is this my healing hands time call?” I laughed answering, “It is.” She popped next to me. Ted sighed in relief. Haley tilted her head asking, “You ok, TeleTed?” Ted explained, “I’m just very anxious.” Haley questioned, “Why?”

Ted threw his hands up in exasperation, “I just want everything to go well, and this stupid pillow has no support!” Haley snapped a memory foam pillow onto the bed. She said, “Eric has these, and I have to admit I fucking love them.” Ted put his head on it. He nodded, “See? Do you see, Matt? This is the kind of luxury the mother of our child deserves.”

Joanie was wheeled into the room laughing. She teased, “I see you’re still on about the pillows.” Ted said, “Just lay your beautiful head on this FAR superior pillow snapped by the Fairy Hackura Princess and you relax.”

I whispered to Haley, “The mother henning has begun.” Haley frowned, “What the fuck does a hen have to do with Ted?” I bit my lip, “It’s a saying that basically said he’s going to help her to death.” Haley said, “Hens don’t kill their children. You must mean like lizards. Skinks can eat their eggs, but hens don’t do that. Plus, I don’t think Ted’s going to eat her. He’s not a zombie.” I laughed.

Matt asked, “You know what a zombie is?” Haley answered, “Eric made me watchZombielandthe other day. So yes, I know what a zombie is. I also know in a zombie apocalypse you all need to get yourself to the Bad Ass Girl Gang members. We’d OWN that shit and be the Zombie killing dream team right there.”

I agreed, “It kind of is the Zombie killing dream team.” Haley smiled saying, “You just fucking wait.” I asked, “What did you do?” Haley smiled, “TeleTed are you ready for your bachelorette/bachelor party?” Ted looked at me, “Huh?” Haley said, “Our Bad Ass Girl Gang Day the day before your wedding, it’s your bachelor/bachelorette party.” Ted laughed, “Oh yeah? Did you get me strippers?” Matt growled.

Haley was flustered, “Ummm I don’t really…. no.” Ted quickly assured her, “I was joking. No need for strippers.” Haley told him, “I have other things planned! I popped myself, Miley, and Molly to Nashville. I saw LOTS of bachelorette parties. Google had ideas too.”

I laughed, “Oh dear, we are in for it.” Haley clapped, “It’s going to be afuckingmazing!” I said, “We would expect nothing less.” Haley stepped up to heal Joanie, and it barely took her five minutes. Haley explained, “You’ll probably deliver sooner than a regular werewolf pregnancy a month at most. Probably a couple weeks.” Joanie smiled, “I’m down for that.” Haley looked confused but didn’t comment.

Haley nodded, “Just call me when you want to be popped to Chase’s place in….” She trailed off then asked me, “It’s called the Virgin Islands, right?” I answered, “It is.” Haley said, “Hmm. I thought someone was pranking me. What a weird fucking name for an island.” I laughed, “I’m sure they have a reason.” Haley shrugged.

Joanie told her, “I’ll be ready to go later this afternoon,.” Haley nodded, “That sounds good.” Ted walked over and kissed Matt. Then he grabbed Joanie’s hand and squeezed it. He said, “Thank you so much.” She smiled, “I can’t wait to meet our pup you guys.” Ted squealed, “I’ll spoil this baby rotten!” I laughed, “We know.” Haley popped out. I gave Ted a hug then walked back to the house.

Heath was waiting there for me. I smiled, “I didn’t know you were coming.” He said, “I wanted to talk to you.” I said, “Ok….” Instantly nervous because of his tone and demeanor. We walked into my office. I took a seat.

Heath told me, “Hanson killed our mother.” I replied, “I know.” Heath said, “Well, I just didn’t want you to think she killed herself. Hanson wrote about it in his journals. He confessed.” I nodded, “Heath, our mother was a fighter and she loved us. It would’ve been hard, but she would’ve gotten herself help. She would’ve stayed for us. I know and never doubted that.”

Heath looked at the window, “Dani had information on the ring. The Hood one.” I gasped, “What?” Heath nodded, “That’s part of why Lizzy didn’t want to try with Hanson. She was investigating it.” I questioned, “Who’s in it?” Heath answered, “No one has been for a long time from our Shroud. There were some Hood members with human mates who chose to live outside the Shroud. They were the ones in danger. It doesn’t make sense, Lex. I just don’t know.”

I assured him, “Hey, we’ll figure it out.” Heath said, “It feels like we are scratching at the surface of something huge, but it’s turning out to be nothing really. It doesn’t make sense.” I responded, “Our people are safe, that's what we can control. We’ll keep digging. Maybe mom and dad have evidence in their fairy safe deposit boxes or something.” Heath shrugged, “Maybe.”

I asked, “Anything else?” Heath snorted, “I know you already know Allie is pregnant.” I squealed, “Yeah, I do! Our kids will be close in age. I’m pretty excited about it.” Heath admitted, “I am too. It’s hard to believe it’s all happening.” I said, “You know there’s a whole guy thing going on here on the thirteenth, right? I’m taking Allie to our Bad Ass Girl Gang Day.”

Heath laughed, “She’ll be thrilled and I did know that. A Beta Dylan left me a very interesting voicemail demanding my presence. I believe he called it a bachelor party of DOOM.” I laughed, “That does sound quite like him. I’m going to invite Sophia to the guy’s thing. I think it would be good for her to come and bond with the other Alpha’s and her allies.”

Heath nodded, “That would be good for her. I’ll call and make sure she’s comfortable if I come. I can always hear about what a bachelor party of doom is later.” I assured him, “I don’t think she’ll care. You guys are scarily mature about the whole thing.” Heath smiled, “It was the right thing, and I think that helps. We both knew that crazy type of love was out there for us.” I teased, “And your wonderful sister pushed you into finding yours. Literally.” Heath laughed, “That you did.” He stood and kissed the top of my head and walked out.

The days began to blur together. I called Sophia and invited her to the guy’s thing. She was surprised to hear from me, but she seemed excited. Ted and I were pretty busy with our business. Carry was working on her final project, but she’d become such a big part of our team I foresaw her staying through her internship.

I was frustrated that after all this time neither Noah nor Hanson had tried to come for Betty. Hell, I didn’t even get an irate phone call or a letter. I knew Noah cared that I had his mother because he loved her. Hanson truly seemed to care about her too. What the hell was going on? Why hadn’t they made any sort of move to show that they cared? It was frustrating.

I could tell Chase knew I was upset, but luckily Haley was here to distract with her next Bad Ass Girl Gang day. Allie showed up right before ten in the morning. Ted, Sally, Susie, Nadine, Reagan, and I were all waiting. I smiled and said, “Hey! I’m glad you could make it!” Allie blushed. She said, “Are you sure it’s ok that I’m coming?” I instantly replied, “Absolutely!”

A pop sounded. I smiled greeting, “Hi, Bex.” She smiled, “I was sent to get you guys.” I asked, “How crazy is it?” Bexley laughed, “It’s very Haley.” She took my hand and popped us to the Hackura Realm. I asked her, “Can you come here whenever you want like Haley can?” Bexley shook her head, “No, Aiden can now if Haley’s here but I have to be invited.” I nodded. I walked into the main room with our group. I stopped in my tracks.

Allie chuckled, “Damn. She goes all out.” There were banners everywhere. There was pink and hearts everywhere you looked. Susie squealed, “HOW AWESOME IS THIS?” Haley popped over and yelled, “TELETED!” She conjured a sash and a tiara then snapped both onto him. She smiled explaining, “Everyone’s in groups today except for the meals. We eat together as bad asses!”

I asked, “Are you in our group?” Haley answered, “You bet your fucking ass! Me, Molly, Miley, and Emmaline are in your group. I have to pop out when Chelsea and Sam want to go home though. I promised I’d take them home so EJ can see Elise. They are just too fucking cute.”
